The reason that 3rd parties game don't do well on Nintendo platform is because of the gimped port.

You'll pay the same amount of money for the lesser product? I wouldn't.

exclusives don't matter much as to decding which console i should buy over since i do buy all 3 consoles though. though while i am getting a wii u next month and a PS4 most likely next year the next xbox is very questionable due to the some of rumors. most of the games i buy are multplats most sony IP'S aside from infamous and sly i honestlt don't care for and i have only like half of nintendo's IP'S. most of my favorite games this gen are multiplats such as red dead redemption, batman arkham city, tales of graces f, both borderlands, fallout 3 and mass effect 2. but there are exclusives such as xenoblade, halo 3, and infamous 2 are my favorite first party games this gen.

Bragging rights, reassurance.

Quite frankly, it's because exclusives are what matters when it all boils down to what console you're going to buy. Multi-plat games, by defnition, are games that most people are supposed to be able to get their hands on, on any system. So exclusives give you the real REASON to pick one console over another. It's rather simple, really. Because most people CAN'T afford to buy all the consoles, hell most gamers can't afford to buy more than one in a given generation, at least not until much later in.

Nsanity hit the nail on the head.

Because of the nature of the site, a large part of the userbase isnt here bevause they love videogames. Theyre here because they love Nintendo/ PlayStation/ Xbox. Its a competitive site that attracts a competitive audience. Multiplats? They mean little in dick waving contests.

Because fanboy wars.

Because bragging rights.

People here love to defend the value of the console they've invested in and convince themselves and others that it is the best. Multiplats do little to add value since you can find them elsewhere.

Both are important and I buy both. However, I will admit, the games I invest the most interest in are exclusive titles. For the PS3 so far I bought Sly: TiT and I intend to get GOW:A, The Last of Us, Beyond 2 Souls and Ni No Kuni. But my MP list is longer which includes DmC, MGR:R, Bioshock: Infinite, Tomb Raider, Castlevania: LoS2, GTA V, Rayman, Ninja Gaiden 3 RE, Dragon's Dogma (the updated edition), etc, etc etc.

With that said, I hardly discuss multiplat games, and some of the previous posters had good reasons why. Nothing against those games it is just more often than not exclusives tend to lead to better/more pertinent discussions, especially for the purpose of comparing things.

I find exclusives usually to be more better made games than multiplats.
