Before driveclub delay. before ps4 launched in the UK driveclub boxes were all over ps4 promotion stands. Sony pushed this game massive.
so far quantum break has got great previews. and the order poor previews.
I agree there is no first party answer to bloodbourne. But I think the witcher 3 will overshadow it both in reviews and sales. It's getting amazing praise. and visually is one of the most impressive games to come on consoles. and it releases right near bloodbourne.
I still maintain ex 360 owners are more western centric gamers, and Xbox looks to be doing a better job there.

It wasn't massive. They advertised it like other new franchises, but I knew from the start this would be an average game. It was supposed to be given away for free! Seriously, I can't stress that enough. It was meant to be an extra incentive to start paying for online on PS4 and to ease the PS audience into this notion. If someone expected a new Forza level franchise - he made a mistake. This game was designed to fulfill a particular mission and it wasn't to be mindblowing. I guess Sony kind changed plans when they realized they don't need that, since PS4 turned into the beast it did and they decided to give the studio more time to make the game better. Whether this panned out - doesn't matter to me, as this was supposed to be a free game and that's how I treat it
QB looked very interesting until they showed gameplay, which was so bland and uninspiring that I lost almost all interest in it. It still can improve, it has some talented people working on it, but while I was very excited at first, I'm not excited at all now. Have to wait and see something that interests me. I know people are criticising The Order, I hope Santa Monica helps Ready at Dawn and that they set it all straight. After all the critic came, they had a solid half year to change things, let's hope it's enough. I love the settings of the game, would be very sad if it was all destroyed by bad gameplay. I'd love to see this become a franchise.
Witcher 3 is gonna be awesome, but it's a multiplat, so will sell better on PS4 no matter what (I wonder if MS pays for parity in this game, they pay for some other extras after all) and all in all it's a different type of game. The Souls audience won't ignore Bloodbourne because of Witcher, these games satisfy different itches. Witcher is here to compete with Dragon Age and TES, not the Souls series.
I wouldn't say Xbone is doing a better job, since games you list don't even exist. GeoW? C'mon! We have only seem a logo. Halo 5? Still a long way till we play it. Titanfall? Forget about it. First one was average at best and the next installments will be on PS4. Forza is cool, but Sony has GT and no matter what you say about it, this game is in a league of its own and doesn't care about any Forza, The Crew, NFS or DriveClub. Lets face it, so far all this Western support you're talking about boils down to a lackluster Titanfall and Halo: MCC (just a port). Sony can answer with TLOU:R, Infamous: Second Son and extra content in Destiny. In 2014 the consoles are pretty much on par, you can't say MS is ahead, cause it's not. What will MS give next year? Halo 5, QB and timed exclusivity of TR. Compare that to Uncharted, The Order (even if it's only average), Bloodborne, delayed TR and it actually still is on par at best. MS isn't dominating Sony in any aspect anytime soon.
Also, don't forget about one massively important thing. We know everything that MS is doing. We know what all their top teams are doing. That is not the case with Sony. What is Santa Monica doing? That Rapture game, but such a massive studio has to be brewing something else as well - a new God of War? They've been hiring many people some time ago, so there has to be something coming. And let me remind you, that this has been one of the top studios in the world the last decade. Guerilla Games is working on two titles - we have no idea about any of them. One is probably another Killzone and we'll have to wait some time for it, but the second team is working on some mysterious RPG we know pretty much nothing of. Then we have Naughty Dog - one team is doing Uncharted 4, but what is the second team preparing? TLOU2? What is Sony Bend doing? There will be some massive announcements for PS4 in the future from the biggest studios making Western games. On the other hand 343, Black Tusk and Remedy won't be doing more than what we already know they are doing and MS has no more quality studios (apart from the Forza one). MS won't be able to compete with the output that Sony has, there is no magic here.
As you see, you are comparing the heaviest guns MS can possibly have with Sony that hasn't actually revealed all their strongest cards yet. Yes, Sony has a problem that it just can't seem to establish a massive online FPS franchise - Resistance, Killzone, SOCOM, Starhawk, Dust, etc. they are trying so hard to get such a game, but just can't steal the Halo and GeoW audience and it is a big deal in America. This is a problem for them, but they are fully aware of it and maybe they'll finally manage to overcome it somehow? That's why they paid extra for Destiny after all. They are aware of their weakness and are working on it, so don't take an MS victory here for granted. Bloodborne is a great example of that.
And a final note - when you say "Western" you actually mean "American" Cause European audience is different in this regard, we like different games, but still are very much Western
