Multi-screen gaming is not "rising in popularity" fast enough for people to buy a Vita just to use it. A price cut and more games worth getting would be a much better tack.

Sony needs to do everything they can to sell it as a separate entity worth buying on it's own, not as a $250 PS3/PS4 accessory.

While i agree with you, i think the connectivity won't hurt. And there is always a chance it could catch on at some time. I mean motion gaming was a gimmic and then came the Wii. So you never know what product or feature might ''hit'' all of a sudden ;)

I'd rather the focus be on more reliable stuff to push sales. Remote play will not convince people that a 32GB memory card should cost as much as a 1TB HDD.

Does remote play on Vita depend on memory cards at all ?

OT: I believe if PS4 titles could be played on Vita using Gaikai. Sales for the handheld would rise significantly.

Honestly, i don`t think it will make a difference. PS3 already lets you play your PS3 game on Vita. At least that`s what i remembre from a comercial.
But even if it was something unique to PS4, can you imagine how much the PS4+Vita bundle would cost just to stream games to play on Vita?
Nintendo already tried to connect GBA to GC and it didn`t work. It isn`t the same type of proposition, but it´s close. And even with the popularity of the GBA, it did nothing for GC sales.

This is something that will matter for those who already intend in having both consoles.

Vita will be able to stream nearly all PS4 games.
Vita can't stream any PS3 games.(well maybe like 1 or 2)

Even today, if Vita could stream all PS3 games it would mean an extra 250 $/€ just for that.
Assuming PS4 starts at 400, the whole thing would cost 650 just to be able to stream for an handheld.

The cost entry for that is just too high. And that doesn`t include the price of games and accessories.

Maybe the day will come where the "bundle" won`t cost much but we are years away from that.

i think the gamestop boss is a moron, the ps4 wont increase vita sales at all, with the remote feature its just wishful thinking and he knows this. the vita needs a price cut outside japan and the memory cards needs them and some aggressive advertising as well, those are the 3 things to save or kill the vita and sony , without question knows this it just seems they dont give a shit. i love the vita ,but the price and memory cards is what is keeping ppl from buying the system and alot of stores arent carrying the system, how are you suppose to sell systems when some retail stores have lost faith in it.

Not without a price-cut it wont.

It will help a little, but if a few exclusive games came to the vita, that would boost it more. I think it will be more of something you use if you get the vita for other reasons, not something that will sell millions of vitas.

No, but the pricing for the system and it's memory is a lot more important.

It will be a big selling point for both systems. I've said it for a year, I own a PS4 controller. I was really disappointed with the remote play on PS3. The PS3 wasn't probably designed for remote play and no one supported it. It was slow and lagged. The automatic start feature glitched up with routers making it completely useless and required someone to turn the PS3 on to use it away from home. What I used it the most for was accessing the PS3 store after the updates, but now the new store doesn't work with it.

With the PS4 being designed with Vita in mind, it will not only run faster as they've shown the speed of the connection it has (no more lag, yay!) but it should work entirely with the system and all its features and games (except move required ones and stuff). So it is kind of like the Wii U in that you can operate and access the console without using your tv right? Well with PS4 and Vita you can do that but from any internet connection, not just in your house.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I'm not the one saying PS4 streaming with save the Vita. I know its expensive and I don't expect it to be a selling point beyond a few hardcore gamers.

of course it can help. People who buy a ps4 are potential buyers for a vita. if the price is right and if the streaming works well a lot of ps4 buyers will buy a vita. further i think sony will bundle the vita and ps4 for a good price so this will also be sold a lot.
