Forums - Sales - Will 3ds catch up 2012 in terms of HW sales?

Well its probably undertracked for February. There is no way Fire Emblem didn't give it a boost when it has sold over 1.2 million already. Luigis Mansion 2, Animal Crossing, Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Pokemon X/Y , and Smash Bros. 4 are all coming. Plus E3 still isn't here yet either.

The Third year always seems to be one of the best years for a Console. This time, the 3DS has Pokemon for all Regions, Animal Crossing for NA and Europe, and Luigi's Mansion for all Regions.

3DS will jump in sales during the Holiday. Nothing will stop it.

Already Fire Emblem is outselling anything that was released the first 2 months of last year. Pokemon, LM, and AC is also makes a better lineup than last year. With E3 coming I really wouldn't worry about this.

The global HYPE the POKEMON X AND Y WORLWIDE RELEASE will create will be out of this world. Add to that the new MONSTER HUNTER 4 with new weapons, areas, mechanics, first to have online connectivity on a handheld ever, will just obliterate everything on its way.
SIMPLY, YES.

I know it will, and it will sell more than 2012's HW sales.

Why?
SMTIV
MH4
LM:DM
Pokemon X/Y
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Animal Crossing for NA and EU
Fire Emblem for EU
A possible LoZ 3DS game
Some great Level 5 games coming to Japan, Youkai Watch being just one of them.

Last year had some great titles, but looking at 2013 (and we don't even have all of the games announced yet), it looks much better and has a much much much higher potential for pushing hardware.

You forgot about Dragonball & Professor Layton, which are both doing great in global sales in the top 6 for currently while only being available in Japan for now.

I didn't forget Professor Layton as I said "Level 5 games," which includes any and all of them.
As for Dragonball, I did not think about it, but I am mostly thinking about what games may make the most impact.

What? Fire Emblem isn't even at 1 million yet.

@OP yeah I'm fairly sure it's no contest, 2013 has Pokemon. Pokemon alone would've made 3DS win.

I think he's referring to the potential eShop sales, which have to be relatively high.

Well then he's estimating that 33% of all sales are from the E-shop.

It's not impossible, Animal Crossing's eShop sales are like that.

Sometimes I just really wish Nintendo would release Digital numbers faster.
