Forums - Microsoft - Nokia will end up owing $650 million to Microsoft

Im sorry but my first thought was:

Sony gains 650 million by selling their own building. MS gains 650 million just because.

:P

I think it's already too late for Nokia to go Android. They are just not relevant in any way anymore. Nobody cares about them, if I wasn't reading news like this, I would be completely forgetting that Nokia even exists. Nokias Downfall is inevitable, the deal with Microsoft was just the final nail in the coffin. I could be wrong, but I don't think Nokia will recover any time soon. I can see Microsoft buying Nokia as soon as next year.

That will probably be going to pay off a large part of the the $750 million in EU fines.

An my Nokia 820 Phone is Awesome!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

How is the camera, I heard it has a green tint in low light.  If it does :S.  That is a huge problem I have, I want a win 8 phone but I want one that has the quality of 900 with Win 8 and I feel like the 820 has a stronger processor but lower build quality and camera, is that true?  What would you advise.  I was thinking of waiting for a 920 price drop, it's currently about $750.

It is by far the best camera I have ever used on a phone.  I haven't notice any green tint.  For example, I took a panorama of Xmas dinner (going down the table) and it looks very natural, and it was just ambient light.   If it had a macro function it would be better than my SLR.   I actually preferred it over the 920, while it has several better features; I think that phone is a little bit too big for my pocket.

I had an HTC WP7, and was happy with it – except it starting having a overheating/rebooting problem when using blue tooth.  I thought the Nokia would fix that, but it ended up being a better phone than I expected.  The shell is better, the screen is better, the phone lighter, and the charge last longer.  Windows Phone 8 is a little more flexible than WP7, and has some nice extra features I didn’t expect (or know I wanted.)

Talk to you cell provider.  I was able to get a new phone, lower my bill, and in 2 years will actually own the phone, and my bill will drop more.

I live in Egypt, no such luck :(.  But still, thanks a lot, I think I wil give the 820 a lot more consideration.

Oh, looking forward to hearing how you like your new Nokia 920!

Which iphone, and how is the Nokia such a superior product?

(I know the screen, my friend with iphone are jealous of my great 820 screen.)

My 920 arrives tomorrow. Had one on trial last week. Beats the absolute shit out of my iPhone. Android isn't an option for me.... I have more class than that.

Good luck with your battry issue, there not as bad as the 820 though, terrible design fault on the 820(you have to take remove the back on those which is very difficult) then you can see how poor the battery design is, it doesnt even sit in right, just thought id give you a heads up so if you have a cancelation or cooling off period use it well to test it out

Dude you are so lucky. Hoping to get a 920 soon :)
Android is also not an option for me... never again...

Back on the OP.
Funny how anti-MS, assume this is bad for Nokia....
This deal actually saved them and look where they are right now. This is just a business deal, nothing special here.

Oh, and by "look at where they are right now", I'm talking "profitable"... Do not waste your time linking the market shares for Android/iOS/Windows Phone.
