Forums - Microsoft - Nokia will end up owing $650 million to Microsoft

Poor Microsoft is getting outpaced in the stock market and once google grows to twice microsofts stock value then Microsoft will have a very hard time ever being dominant again

It has to happen at some point. No one stays on top forever. Seems everything I hear about MS these days is slipping share prices and falling profits.

However it's still a powerful beast.

Nokia was better off with Windows. I doubt it could have competed in the Android market.

The camera on the 920 is the best I've used.

That will probably be going to pay off a large part of the the $750 million in EU fines.

An my Nokia 820 Phone is Awesome!

How is the camera, I heard it has a green tint in low light.  If it does :S.  That is a huge problem I have, I want a win 8 phone but I want one that has the quality of 900 with Win 8 and I feel like the 820 has a stronger processor but lower build quality and camera, is that true?  What would you advise.  I was thinking of waiting for a 920 price drop, it's currently about $750.

My 920 arrives tomorrow. Had one on trial last week. Beats the absolute shit out of my iPhone. Android isn't an option for me.... I have more class than that.

Good luck with your battry issue, there not as bad as the 820 though, terrible design fault on the 820(you have to take remove the back on those which is very difficult) then you can see how poor the battery design is, it doesnt even sit in right, just thought id give you a heads up so if you have a cancelation or cooling off period use it well to test it out

I have had a 920 for 3 months as does my best friend and there is absolutely no issues with the battery with that phone. Lasts all day, charges fast, charges wirelessly...

what exactly is the issue with 820? Just placement or something functional?

I have an 820 and have no issues with the battery. My phone locked up once but all I had to do was pop the back off(very easy, just hold the top with your fingers and push the camera with your thumb)and drop the battery out. The wireless charging is indeed really cool.

The issue with the 820 is the battery doesn't fit in right, I work in mobile sales/repair some phones can have no issue what so ever but it is a very common fault with the nokia 820, ansd starting to appear with the 920, we've even had customers fed up of exchaning/sending off for repair and he had to wedge paper inside the 820 just to hold the battery properly

but then again, nokia's faults have nothing on the Blackberry curve series

not sure if got it right... but are you saying MS made a deal with Nokia "forcing" (by giving them money) them to use only the WP OS and in the end nokia will have to pay (all back and plus 650 million) to be "forced" to use only WP OS?

if that is the case... nokia is more stupid than i thought.

Yeah forcing them. They put a gun to their heads and said sign or we shoot. Good grief.

Its a business deal. It's how it works in the grown up world of business sometimes.  They both went Ito it willingly and I'm pretty sure they both happy so far.

did you notice the "" in the forcing word? and the comment between ( ) ? i didn't find other word to explain the deal...
easy, i didn't attack your beloved company... they made a great deal, and in my opinion nokia made a bad one...
Of course there was no gun involved, just money waving in front of Nokia's eyes... and they accept it... nothing wrong about that... MS was trying to push WP OS and nokia did need the money to fund their next line of smart phones... so its a win win situation, the stupid thing is nokia owning MS 650 millions after helping them so much push WP OS...

I also have had no issues with the battery on my Nokia 820.  I had to put it in, in the store and they helped me with it.  Then took it out once myself, just to make sure I remembered.

It seems like a solid little phone.

My HD7 had issues, but that was after nearly 2 years of use, and just towards the end of that. And that was with blue tooth, and recharging. But became really annoying.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I thought the 920 had a unibody design with a nonremovable battery?

I've been loving my nokia 820. I haven't had any battery issues either. Listen to lot of pandora on it and play games on it too. I would not have gotten a Nokia normaly, but tehy offered what I thought was the best windows phone at the best price from verizon.

Ah well.  Looks like this was a load of old rubbish.

My 920 charges quickly and keeps its charge for a hell of a lot longer than my iphone 4 did under hecvy use (gaming, browsing, music etc).

One hell of a phone.  Incredible build quality.

Yeah problems with phones don't appear straight away .....with any phone give it 3 months, if its going fine then great you have a good one continue praising it, type in lumia 820 and 920 battery problems, but hey least they don't have the in call screen issues like the lumia 800's at this rate one day they might have a decent phone out that works and i wont have to waste my time at work fixing them/booking them off for repair
