Forums - Gaming - Have you ever gone back to play a game and you just suck at it?

Going through this right now with the God of War games. I'm trying to beat all of them before Ascension comes out and I've beaten Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and God of War but I'm stuck on 2 and I'm too annoyed to go back to it. This used to be like my absolute favorite series (still love it) and I was pretty good at the games. I think I beat the first two games on Spartan and I remember actually getting a bit through the first game on God mode. I'm certainly not bad at it now but I have definitely lost most of my skill. I used to be able to do crazy combos and hardly ever get hit. I mean of course I struggled at parts briefly, now though I get really frustrated and give up. I'm on the part where I have to ascend down the platform while skeltons keeps spawning and the ceiling covered with spikes is about to come down. I make it down fine enough but by the end of it I don't have the stength to get the door up before the skeltons hit me after buttong mashing the whole way down.

Battlefield 3, went to End Game today.....all I can say is that I did pretty bad.

Super Mario Sunshine.

Was chasing Shadow Mario that hard before?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Mario Kart Double Dash after playing the much more responsive MKDS. Couldn't get within 10s of my time trial times.

SSBM after playing the much LESS responsive Brawl. Was just way too fast.

Mario 64 after Mario Sunshine/Galaxy. The controls are just so much more forgiving on the later games. You stick to angled surfaces; somersault/triple jump timings are easier; you don't lose control for so long after you hit enemies/walls/invisble bits of the terrain.

When I was around 12 or 13 I bought God of War and I couldn't get past the first level broke the disc and 7 years later The game is easy ass hell.

Castlevania LoS, by the time the DLC, especially the second one, came out that game was dam hard. The developers must have assumed that gamers had been playing the game all that time. By that time all I could see were all the flaws in the controls and a very steep learning curve.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

X3 Terran Conflict. The learning curve is far too steep for me. I can fly around space and that's about it.

Virtua Fighter, Tekken and most other fighting games. Platformers as well, because playing, Sonic, Spyro and Tomba games when I was younger was a lot easier.

On the opposite side. If I stop playing Gran Turismo 5 for a while, I actually get a little better.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Call of duty. I get motion sickness after 15 minutes of play. I have to lie down for 3 hours to recover.
