No doubt they will be on a vulnerable position. I bought a 360 for the JRPG's back in the day and hope that microsoft would wise up and make online play free. As you can imagine, im not a pleased costumer and i wont be buying an Xbox next gen. It might be beyonf repair, because my faith on microsoft is lost, but starting with several new IP's and free online play would make me wonder. |
and that seems like the only market they care off, there first party IP just seem to cater to the USA mostly.
i never was an xbox costumer and dont plan on being so, it seems like i will get screwed more than i will be happy with an xbox

as a consumer, the pay-to-play live gold model is why i boxed up my xbox and bought a ps3. it's up to MS to decide how many consumers they lost vs how much money live makes to detirmine it if is worth it to them.
...but if online was free on xbox 360 i believe we'd be living in an alternate future where playstation is dead and MS leads the console market. ms had so many competitive advantages going into this gen due to sony's mistakes. they really could have crushed sony, imo.

i expect it never to be free unless they are getting their ass kicked hard.

That's the thing they are outperforming there oppononents online even while it is at a price.
They should open up multiplayer and use their services as incentive for consumers to subscribe instead of making it more of a requirement. If they don't end up a strong seller compared to competition, restricting multiplayer will put them in a bad situation. Their set up this gen has been maintained by its popularity.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Smart for them? No, the money Live prints far outweighs the revenue from potential so called lost customers.
they just need to add more value to the gold account like ps plus or something like that.
Yes for me. Why would anyone not want free? But, Microsoft is making money. And the majority doesn't care. This won't change unless somehow everyone stopped buying systems.
