Forums - Sales - Can the Vita start to outsell the 3DS in NA?

Anyone want to bet with me that the Vita will get a Monster Hunter game?

With a price cut and more developer support...yeah it could happen one day.

Here is what I think:
~ Price cut - Will make the PSVita outsell the 3DS for that week, of course.
~ Week after Price Cut - PSV will still outsell the 3DS. (Unless Nintendo ends up releasing a game around this time, I doubt it, though.)
~ 2 Weeks after the Price Cut - This is when the PSVita will start to drop off in sales quite a lot. It'll still outsell the 3DS this week but the next week I seriously doubt. (I'm basing this to where Sony would drop the price around September. If the Price is dropped sooner than September then we will most likely see the PSV outsell the 3DS for almost a month, maybe a little more.)

This is all speculation. I don't know Nintendo's SW Release Schedule all too well and I don't know when Sony will drop the PSV's Price.

^ I don't buy it. The Vita isn't even outselling the 3DS the week of the price cut in Japan. 3DS is weaker in America, but by summer it'll be doing much better. I'll give Vita 2 weeks, maybe 3, if it gets its price cut before Pokémon. After Pokémon? One week at most.

So we both agree. Good! (I bolded some parts. I don't know why you said that you don't buy what I said!)

Why would anyone think the Vita wouldn't get a MH? That would only happen if the Vita becomes discontinued.

wen? 2013?

Monster Hunter is ultimately up to Crapcom to decide, and they will release their games anywhere they can make a profit. The Nintendo contract is only a rumor that's been propagated by the fact there hasn't been a Monster Hunter for Playstation consoles in a year and a half, which is still well within an acceptable range of downtime for a series. It's not Call of Duty after all.

I should've been more specific, this is the part I disagreed with. :P Sorry for the confusion. We are mostly eye-to-eye here. Just no way can I see the Vita outselling the 3DS for a month straight.

No, most likely never.

Unless the 3DS can come up with anything, then I could see it possibly happening. Japan might negate that, though.
