Forums - Sales - Can the Vita start to outsell the 3DS in NA?

I well it could, but to outsell a popular game machine that many kids wants. Many other kids have, appeals to kids, and parents. Has games for kids.verses something that appeals to an older crowd that is less likely to buy a handheld. I think no, not going to happen.

Now if they pack it in with a Ps4 and Microsoft doesn't deliver on the NextBox, then it could happen. I just think it is very unlikely. About as likely as a whale turning into a pot of flowers that then smashes into a million pieces.

Why does it need to sell the most anyway?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Nope. Why you ask? One word...

Pokemon

I don't think so, 3DS still has a huge amount of potential big software hits to come, including Pokemon X and Y later this year. Vita blew its load with Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, there's not really anything else it can get that would be higher than those games.

Vita has no potential big games, selling 5K a week, and a total of 1.2 million.
3DS has lots of potential big games, including the top 3 biggest handheld franchise, currently selling 15K a week, and a total of over 8 million.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Pokemon, Monster Hunter...what's the last one?

Animal Crossing. Although I guess it could be Brain Age, Mario, Mario Kart, and a number of others that have sold very well. I guess I should have said something more like the top 7 =P

Animal Crossing is already out in it's strongest region so I wouldn't count that.

According to IGN, it's not out until June 9th in the US. There's also no sales listed for it on this site.

But it's already out in Japan. It's stongest region. 3million sold already. No way it'll do better in NA and Europe combined the way it's doing in Japan.

It might the week of a price cut.
Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon do present a problem for Vita though.
Vita's best chance for recovery is in Japan. All it needs is a Monster Hunter game, which I'm sure will come.

But when it come? In 2015 ? The problem is, it's too late. And Capcom not going to abandon 3DS series fanbase (last gen ALL portable MH was on PSP only). Vita never going to be like PSP w/Monhun.

In the end PSV can find its niche on dedicated handheld market, but not going to lead it. I think everyone understands it right now. Maybe Sony will bundle it w/PS4 or so in the future.
