Forums - PC - Users attacking SimCity 3.4 userscore(metacritic should remove user scores)

I don't see the issue. It lets us see what reviewing users think about a game as a product. Unlike game reviewers, the consumer has to put up with things like price, accessibility, bugs, etc., so their opinions more properly reflect those of the masses. Thus, user ratings on metacritic et al. are incredibly useful for seeing what consumers actually value, e.g. cost, DRM, not being on Sony hardware, low availability, etc.

User scores are good for cases like these. You screw the consumer, you get screwed by the consumer (on metacritic )

not true.  Exclusive games also take a lot of heat by loyalists

You'd have to be a child to treat other games in this way, waste your time clicking them down.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

At this point I think metacritic should just take out user scores because they are never accurate and just a bunch of exagerating fans.  Not to mention lots of them doesn't even play the games. Anyways take a look.

91 Metacritic - 3.4 Userscore

Recent freakouts in metacritic has been Diablo III and Devil May Cry.

Diablo III is still the best FPS ever XP

They don't make First Person Shooters like they used to...

Signature goes here!

Why the hell would a game that's all about building your own personal city where you control everything need to be online anyway? This ain't a Facebook app!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

well personally i think if anything on meta has a user score of 2.4 or higher than its an awesome game. this one is soaring with a 3.4 meta, so its doing pretty good

Considering that people can't even play the game, or at the very least their city then I would say 3.4 is entirely too generous

Yeah.... a 20 min wait to login to play single player. i am one.....

I have nothing to do with a game console that has a close tie to EA. They cant even guess there might be alot of people playing this damn game. I think i saw something like 5 servers for north america, lame as hell. i wish i could get a refund. this is a waste.

I dont like EA but i had to play the new sim city... umm wait  i cant.

Fortunately for myself I was 'strong' and decided to wait on the purchase until the price came down and the majority of people had been pissed off enough to never give it another try ever again. Well that and after I heared that you couldn't save and reload, thus precluding a Psychopathic tangent, I suddenly wasn't too excited about getting the game.

Consumers have a right to voice their opinions.

"Professional" reviewers probably have EA's money in their pocket.

There are people on Metacritic calling the user reviews "Anti-DRM Trolls"!

You have failed EA. You will never be able to compete with Steam if you treat PC gamers like this. Just give up!

This game is a glorified Facebook game. No simulation depth whatsoever.

Do not play this game.
