Of course it is. An IP doens't need a sequel before it becomes a franchise. You mean it's not a "series". Look up the definition of franchise.

A quick look at the OP and you'll understand the point of this thread. The thread title doesn't say "top 7 games", it says "franchises". That means IP's with 2 or more installments.

2. Gears of War (well, 1-3 anyway, judgment? bah)

4. Bayonetta (i played it on 360, so i can understand ps3 fans dismissing it the way they do)
