Forums - Sony - The Gaming Media Should Not Insult the PS Conference at all and here's why

I would have like it if they made a console that made gameplay unique. I'd like recording my game, it's just not enough. Nintendo brought a touch screen. That's different. That changes my games. Ps4 didn't promise a new experience.

I'm sure it will be fantastic, I'll wait and see.

developers create the new experiences I want.  Changing the way I input stuff into games is not the way I want my experiences changed.  Sorry but Wiis best games for me were the ones where motion was not a focus (Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, DKCR, SSBB, Zelda TP).  The motion crap almost ruined SS for me and I wish they wouldn't put in tech until the latency was gone because it was really annoying holding the wiimote out for 2 seconds before the sword on screen would go out.  Stuff like Heavy Rain, Journey, Uncharted, Infamous, Beyond, Puppeteer, LoU, and other new IP is where I want my innovative ideas to take place in games.  I love that they are cutting latency and dead zones and improving rumble as well as all the ergonomic upgrades on the controller.

I respect where your coming from.  I think Sony is best when they perfect rather than invent, letting the developers work on a consistent input system.  I too am not a fan of motion controls except for very few cases like Scarface for Wii.  BUT!!

A lot of posibilities exist and if one fails (motion controls) the others still ought to be explored.  Speaking for myself of coarse.

It's not like I want controllers to forever be the same.  In fact I think every Nintendo controller improved upon the last until Wii.  Even it was comfortable to hold I guess and I really like the pro controller.  Just not into doing a song and dance as it takes me out of my immersion personally.  Whatever Nintendo proved they can have both I just wish there was a non-motion option for SS so I could've enjoyed the awesome story and puzzles a little more (loved the other aspects the combat just annoyed me so much I couldn't get a negative view of that game out of my mind).

Seems we can agree.  Especially on SS. I'm sure a dev on the PS4 will do something impressive. There's no reason to doubt that.

I had the impression that the gaming media had a overall positive echo to the PS4 reveal.

of course there are always outlets fishing for hits and the obvious nitpickers and haters trying to downplay it, but that all just adds to getting the word out in the end.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
