But given how a lot of fans of the series (on here a at least), are complain about franchise fatigue (myself included) is the game likely to hold up sales wise, or should Ubisoft prepare to see a significant drop at launch?

It's not like AC was ever the best graphically. They are not trying to be Crytek with amazing graphics but with no gameplay or story.

Where are you seeing that people are saying these are the "best graphics ever produced"?  They don't look the best at all, but for AC they look good to me.  Sorry some poeple have different opinions than you.

This looks like a AC 3 rip off. Just set in a different place, the rest assured to be same. I don't understand what would convince me to buy. This happens when they are so persistent in releasing newer ones every year. Most probably, it's joining the COD league soon.
