Is there any Monster Hunter beginner's guide out there that's actually worth reading? I found a lot of useless "you are a hunter and you hunt monsters! Oh and you can play online!" guides. Also there's loads of info dumps (tables with item lists, etc.) but so far I've found nothing that actually guides you through the first hours of the game (which weapons best to use first, how to set up a trap, which items you need to collect first and which armor to forge in the beginning - stuff like that). Useful guides / tutorials could be put into the OP to encourage new players.

There was a 16 page handout that ONM did come the launch of Tri which I found very, very useful. You may be able to find a copy online.

To add to this.  There a Monster Hunter wikia that give details on most every monster, weapon, armor, item, etc.

Haha I'm not really concerned with learning the ropes just yet.

I want to fail hard trying to succeed at 1st.

Sadly there is no online for the 3DS version.  That being said, you can stream your info from the WiiU to the 3DS and vice versa.

That's cool. As has been stated, the Monster Hunter Wikia is pretty good but very dense and detailed. I like IGN's guides. Easy to follow.

Yeah, I've used the Wikia before. It's good if you know what you're doing but I'll finish that guide for now. Sounds good for starters. Thanks for the help!
