Forums - Nintendo - 64GB Wii U?

No this would confuse neogaf into thinking it was a Nintendo 64.

Yeah, most casuals are thinking Wii U is an accessory for the Wii, making them also think it's an accessory for the N64 (like Rumble Pack etc) would make things even worse.

Wii U storage can be expanded with an external hard drive so there really isn't too much need for Nintendo to increase their costs and do this.

That said I really wish they had gone with USB 3.0 because 2.0 is way too slow.

ya true but i dont want to get an external drive for a wii u when i get one

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

They should release a 64gb model with USB 3.0, Nintendoland, AND NSMBU for $349. That would go a long way to fixing at least a couple of their errors in the launching of this system.

As its solid state it is the next logical step, 640GB solid state would costs hundreds, putting a hard drive in would mean they need a whole new chassis to fit it inside.

It is the next logical step but it wont happen for a year or so yet, i dont think people are waiting on a bigger storage, just a cheaper price.

it would basically be a price drop since basic and deluxe will be cheaper

They could bundle it with a Nintendo branded external HDD.

Screw 64, they need something useful. At least 250GB if you plan to have a decent-sized digital library. But this is Nintendo, they will cut corners wherever possible and HDD space is one of the casualties. This could be a reason why the Wii U isn't selling well. There are PS3's and XBox 360s out there with 250-500GB of HDD at a lower price than Wii U.

im pretty sure this is trolling.

You mean 640GB?

Do you know how much 640GB of flash memory would cost....Before you pounce on Nintendo, remember that the driveless PS3 SS has 12GB flash memory and anyone can add an external HD to the Wii U for more space.

Considering that the diskless 360 only has 4GB flash memory and the diskless PS3 has 12GB, is 32 really that bad?  If you want more, just hook an external drive up.  We have 4 external drives in my house, so, I didn't even have to buy one.  If it had been built into the Wii U, the cost would have been higher, so I saved money this way.
