Forums - Sales - Top 3rd party 3ds and all vita games in Japan

I was looking at some data in garaph and I found this chart, as you can see is the japanese sales for all vita games and 3rd party 3ds games combined, I found interesting the fact that only 2 games have been able to sell over 100k on the vita compared to over 30 on the 3DS so the conclusion I got is that if third partys want to sell over that mark their best bet is the 3DS but the vita is still a healthy market for lesser and niche games

PD: The numbers are up to February 4th of 2013

Does the "as of the week of" column mean they stopped updating the sales at that point?

Because if it does, that means that most of these numbers are just a lot out of date.

Yes, thats what it mean but it would only affect the games that are still charting and not the others

Well at least Japan isnt getting any new games either for the vita so i dont feel left out. lol

What week did this numbers end on? It seems to me that it is the week when DQVII released and if it is, the Terry-s Wonderland is overtracked.

It's just... weird, I guess.

Ys: Celceta was the most obvious one to me.  They only tracked two weeks of sales for that title.  If they're only getting them from Media.Create numbers or something, then smaller games that release during busy schedules (for example during a holiday period) don't have their actual sales represented.  While a smaller title like Demon Gaze which releases in a game drought has all of its sales tracked.

Oh well.

mods can move threads to their correct locations, so ask a mod to move the thread next time.

OT: great find. i'm figuring all Vita needs is a price drop, and 3rd party games will sell better.

and where's the Vita list?

They update the numbers when famitsu or mediacreate release their top 500/1000 of the year
