I wouldn't call Joel an antagonist. Joel is the protagonist from beginning to end, excluding the chapter where he is injured and you switch to Ellie. You might be implying that he made the "wrong" choice at the end and he turned out to be the villain of the game, but villain =/= antagonist

Basically I'm explaining to you that antagonist =/= villain. A villain can be the protagonist of a tale or story; the antagonist in this case would be the "hero" that opposes this villain.

I was clearing up the misconception about the word "antagonist" :P Trust me, Ima a Journalist!
