Two of any real consequence.  I dont expect really anything out of Knack or Driveclub.

Just personally.  People are acting like Sony was dropping Megatons at their reveal.  If thats what people think its going to be interesting to see their reactions when MS unloads multiple new IPs in April

Because I have a pretty good grasp of the industry since I work in it and know what does and doesnt move hardware.

What Ive seen of Knack and Driveclub will have pretty much zero impact for early purchases of consoles.  Killzone and Infamous will.  Ill be saying the same thing about the MS conference in terms of what will and what wont have a significant retail impact.

Knack and Driveclub are Sony exclusive aswell and you tried to omit them using your "standards"

 

I can understand if you were talking about "games that move hardware" but you weren't

lulz, way to move the goalpost.  if that is how we are going to judge things ms likely can't muster even 2 games without blowing their entire load for the next 12 months which they won't; they still have an E3 presentation to consider.

So your basis isn't "fun games" but "will move hardware"?  Alright, though I kind of disagree, as I think the quantity is very important in the launch window.

However, by that I take it that you believe Microsoft will reveal more than two games at the level of Killzone and Infamous or higher?  And that anything less is dismissable?

With Xbox, they haven't really had too many games released in the past 2 years or something like that so it would be obvious that people are going to expect games from M$ other than 3rd party


Why would I be concerned. I am just calling it like it is. Based on the Sony conference people keep acting like Microsoft won't have people there to show games and it is ridiculous. Plus KillZone and Infomous don't scare me. If we are talking about buiness they have 1 franchise that moves units.

I am talking about people who writ these articles saying Microsoft better bring the games. People take that as Sony showed up with like 10 First Party games. That is not the case. Of course Microsoft will have the games at their conference. They will have just as many 3rd party devs as Sony did and show a numch of stuff coming up. It is not going to be hard to show more 1st party stuff. KZ, Knack, and Drive Club were the only PS4 exlcusives to have footage if I remember correctly. The other stuff like Infamous was just announced.

That us why I think these people are way off base with these articles about bringing games.

I'd be willing to bet drive club does 5 million before gt comes out. That about how many hard core gt fans there are that buy a playstation system just because they know gt will be on it. Drive club has captured their attention even if some people like to dismiss it.

nah they showed a trailer for inFAMOUS along with the announcement but it wasn't gameplay

 

You gotta remember that M$ can't show their whole hand at the April announcement because they have to save something big for E3 but i guess we just have to wait and see

You guys seem awfully touchy.

I dont doubt Knack and Driveclub will be decent enough games. My original comment was towards this idea that the PS4 reveal was mind blowing. It wasn't. It was certainly a good reveal though as it convinced me to pick up a PS4 on day 1. That being said there were no real "megatons" and Killzone and Infamous were the only 2 games shown with real potential to move hardware.

The OP asks what MS could possibly due to match it and my response is it wouldn't take much. Just a couple nice AAA core exclusives.
