I wish all this timed exclusivity would just blow over. It hasn't affected any games I've been bothered about so far, but it just seems so inane. And that goes for Sony's attempts to get it too.

The only time it's effected me was with Fallout: New Vegas DLC. I bought the game new and was still playing off and on when the first DLC was released--for the 360 ONLY. I would have bought it day one if I could have and fully intended to do so before I found out.
What happened instead was that by the time it was released for PC, I was done with the game so it didn't tempt me. It pissed me off enough at Bethesda that I decided not to buy anything else at full price from them, especially DLC. If they want me to wait then I'll bloody well wait. I guess I should thank them, though, since I ended up grabbing all the DLC during a Steam sale for $2.50 each.
I hope it was worth it for them.
Well this would explain why EA was completely radio silent during the PS4 event and continues to be silent about it.
Microsoft should just buy EA and get it over with.
Suppose it fits in with the previous rumor about EA trying to blackmail Nintendo with Origin on Wii U.
What next? No used games?
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

+ Bungie (owned by Microsoft until they became independant in 2007), Carbonated Games (closed 2008) and ACES Game Studio (closed in 2009), among others I'm forgetting. |
I can inculde more for Sony if you wanna count small studios/a 1st party studios never make 360/PS3 games
hmm, that could be huge for MS to gain a head start, provided its a time exclusive for a big tittle.
I wonder if MS is willing to spend a few more $$$ to make Activision make one of the COD games time exclusive?

How did EA get away with not putting them on Dreamcast? |
That was a decade ago. Licensing deals now often require sports games to be in all consoles with some caveats. That is what is so strange abou t the no next Madden on WiiU talk since that license supposedly requires full release (unless there is a minimum floor for sales, in which case the late version last year would not have met it).
Speaking of Madden, this is the last year of EA's exclusive license, so while messing with Nintendo fans is one thing, bringing the wrath of Sny fans (whom received the initial on-line support from EA) would be another.

maybe MS is getting ready to put medal of honor past CoD. MS is good at marketing, if anyone can take down CoD its them, and the best way to do it would be through EA.

Listen, I understand you're a fan of Microsoft. That much is obvious. But I would suggest that you don't go looking for conspiracies where there are none. I simply agreed with another member that Microsoft would be wise to invest its money in first-party studios instead of using that money to buy temporary exclusives from EA. It's a pretty inoffensive, uncontroversial comment. I'm not trying to troll Microsoft, I assure you.
Anyway, I've done too much already to derail this thread. No hard feelings, I hope.
