Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Jimmi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. I also like the George Benson.
Favorite of the 60s: Hendrix (pioneered new way of playing)
Favorite of the 70s: Jimmy Page (creativity and sheer amount of good music)
Favorite of the 80s: Stevie Ray Vaughan (probably would get my vote for being the best)
Favorite of the 90s: Slash (style)

michael_stutzer said: Jeff Loomis is simply amazing. He creates incredible riffs, his solo work is pretty good as well. |
I met him; actually hung out with him at The Launchpad club in Albuquerque before Nevermore went on and bought him a shot and a beer. Very nice guy.
OT: My personal favorite is John Petrucci. The man never ceases to amaze me.
Hmm, Kirk Hammett, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jon Gomm, Eric Mongrain, Ewan Dobson, among others.
