Gears of War: Judgment comes out March 16, and in preparation, Microsoft and People Can Fly have announced a season pass for the title. For 1600 Microsoft Points ($20), you’ll get access to six multiplayer maps, two new modes, nine exclusive unlocks, and permanent double XP. Microsoft says that this will save players 20 percent over purchasing the content separately.

The Microsoft Store has been running a deal during the last couple of months which gives those who preorder 1600 Microsoft Points for free. Therefore, those who purchase the title from the outlet are theoretically getting the season pass for free. It’s a great deal, and if you’re a fan of the series, you should certainly take advantage of the situation.

The VIP Season Pass, as it’s called includes:

Two upcoming Game Add-on Packs that include six multiplayer maps, two new modes, and new weapon and armor skins

Early access to Game Add-on multiplayer maps so you can be the first to play

A permanent double XP boost to accelerate your ascent through the ranks

Five exclusive weapon skins and four exclusive armor skins

MS is having a lot of good deals lately.

So your season pass gives you very very little, for an extra 1/3 of the price of the game? That seems like a rip off to me

Already preordered I'm starting to get hype. I chose for the Alex Brand MP Skin and points before they announced the pass but I figured I would use the points for some day 1 Gears DLC.

Pre-order from the Microstore Store and get it for free or wait a couple of months for Deal Of The Week.

Fuck this. Pay more and double XP permanent? That is HORRIBLE.

The deal I'm seeing on the MS page includes an XBL 1600 pts download coupon for the $59.99 price.

So, it's more like a $19.99 pts card with purchase, usable for any XBL purchase (to include a Gears Judgement Season Pass), making the effective price of the game $39.99 if one regularly buys content on XBL.

And they threw in a couple of DLC items.

That's actually a pretty generous deal.
