Overall, I'd say eastern is still the best. Especially when you take into account handheld games, which I think a lot of people in this thread are forgetting.

honestly i prefer western, i just like their style more then eastern games

East for console games.
West for PC games (ys franchise is high up there, though).

I could live without western games, but never the other way around.

I like when an eastern game has a western setting.

Going to have to say Western as the vast majority of my favorites (Deus Ex, Command and Conquer, Warcraft III, Thief series, Elder Scrolls, ect.) are all Western.

My favorite game of all time, however, is Silent Hill 2 which is Eastern .... but the series as a whole is always set in Western locations with Western characters ... but the story is very Eastern so that is a tough call.

But Western is still fun! Just not godly fun!

Easily Western.

I have rated a hell of a lot more Eastern games between 9.5/10 than i have Western ones.

Eastern wins for me by quite a margin.
