Pretty simple. Microsoft is in a bad place right now. With all their mistakes they are loosing momentum and now the PS3 is tied or maybe ahead of the 360. Microsoft started off pretty strong but half way through the gen and right after the launch of Kinect besides the big Halo and Gears releases they have screwed up huge. It will honestly take a near miracle for me to be interested. I gave the first xbox a chance I got it at launch and it didnt really have any games besides Halo. I played all multi plat games on PS2. I wanted to get a 360 a few years but all the bad taste Microsoft gave me convinced me otherwise. Now I do like Halo my stepdad has an xbox so I payed a few big exclusives on it and games I didn't have on PS3. I'm still willing to give them a chance though. I'm not going to be negative anymore so I'll say what Microsoft needs to interest me
First of, online play HAS to be free. If they want to charge for nearly everything else whatever go for it I'll just use PS4 for apps. If I were subscribe to Live I don't want ads all over the place and I need to get rewards. Gold members don't get anything. 25 cents for your birthday or something? Only casuals care about avatar crap. Microsoft needs to really reward its subcribers.
GAMES. I don't just want Halo 5 and Gears 4. I want to see at least 5 new IP's or 3 really good IP's. I want returning franchises like Perfect Dark, Alan Wake, Project Gotham Racing, Killer Instinct and maybe Banjo. Microsoft has to heavily invest in games and needs a ton of IP's. Microsoft really only has two big franchises. They need a lot more than Halo and Gears.
Specs that at least give the PS4 a run for it's money. I really don't expect the new xbox to match the PS4 and that's fine but at least be a few steps below like the 360 was.
Something the PS4 can't do. Pretty obvious. Features that only the new xbox will have.
Less Kinect. Of course there will be a new Kinect that makes sense and show off a segment for it and one or two games that's fine as long is there no disaster like E3 2010 again.
Blu Ray. I'm going to watch Blu Ray movies on my PS4 but Microsoft has to upgrade so we can get bigger games and better games as result.
No timed exclusive crap and no long segments that show off multi platform games. If they want to show off another Call of Duty or Fallout 4 or something go ahead just don't make it very long.
No Live games or at least not many. Arcade games don't interest me that much and this is a show for the big guns.
Not much media crap. Show all the features and show off a list of apps for the new xbox by all means. Nothing more. This shit is a big waste of time that can be done in a press release.
Probably other stuff I'm not thinking of. Anything below A grade won't work for me. Microsoft has to step it up all the way.
