Both games look really fun... and way beyond last gen.

I own a Wii U.  I hope it does great.....but this thread is about graphics and so was my post.

I love VGChartz...if I say something negative about any system I must be a fanboy of the other system(s).


I only skimmed the posts as I guessed they were all about how exciting the graphics were.

I just don't know how people can get so excited over a new system that has slightly better graphics than the last one.

I think the days have gone where you can get genuinly excited over some incredible advance in gaming and now it's about trying to get gaming fans ina  frenzy about tiny baby step advances in technology.

I can't get excited about graphics, for me it's about the gameplay.

PS3 to PS4 is a bigger jump than PS2 to PS3 so I'm not sure what you're talking about...

Well I'd put more faith in what people coding for the console are saying instead of what you are saying.

Which developers incidentally?  I trust my own eyes. Even if the jump in processing power is theoretically larger, from an image quality perspective the change is just not as great.

Who have a vested interest in every man and his dog buying a next generation system because it means they can sell more copies of UE4.  Like i said, on paper maybe, but we are now at the point where we are getting diminishing returns on graphical fidelity for a given improvement in hardware power.

now that ive actually looked into the game a bit more, i do think out of all the officially announced ps4 games so far knack definitely is the most likely to appeal to my tastes...but I'm still pumped for 101 dammit...viewtiful joe crossed with PIKMIN, what more could anyone want?

Yeah knack or whatever is called looks more like a "UP" (Pixar movie) game Wonderful 101 is more colourful.

but me personally I don't think I really care of grapich in games....

They do look quite similar, I instantly thought of 101 when I first saw it. There wasn't a lot of gameplay shown, but I think Knack looked a bit better, especially the cgi.

Don't know how fun I think it looked, though. Maybe when I see more, but at first sight, it looked a lot like a graphics focused game to me.

On one hand I have a much clearer idea of TW101's gameplay.
On the other hand Knack looks prettier.

I wonder which one I'm more likely to spend money on?
(btw, lol at Wii U/PS4 graphics comparison threads... this gives me an idea)

There were tiny bits during the presentation, looks like Ratchet and Clank. It is for the younger audiences, but it looks fun. It will not be the game you show off to friends to impress them about the graphics. Killzone Shadow Fall and Driver Club will do that =D

I think they both look great. I'm not a fan of photo realistic graphics anyway. I love toony styles like these. But yeah, Knack is a bit better graphically than 101. But they're close enough that it doesn't really matter. I'm going to own both system eventually, so it won't matter for me. All that matters is how fun each game is. Sides, I'm pretty sure 101 looks like more of an action beat 'em up game, while Knack is going to be a platformer.



I'm the result of someone exclusively playing Final Fantasy XI from the PS2 release till 2010, and only stopping for small bouts of catch up.
