Forums - Sony - Yoshida: No Vita price cut for North America

"No, it's not," Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida told Joystiq, when asked if the Vita will see a price cut like the one just announced in Japan. Yoshida cited the exchange rate as a reason for the lack of price drop – an issue that has plagued Nintendo in recent earnings releases.

Welp, so much for that. Glad I just went "fuck it" and got a used one for $200.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

called it. They won't drop price until april 1.

NA and Europeans wont take kindly to this.

Kinda like how Europe basically said "f*$k you" to 360 in holiday 2012 when NA got a temp price cut and Europe didn't. Sales reflected that.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I don't believe him!

I read something suggesting (without any source) that they might time it with Soul Sacrifice, like they have done in Japan. In that case, the game is about a month away I think, so it would just be stupid to announce a price cut for that far in the future

So they are going to try to fight with an invincible monster who stands tall and casts his shadow upon the mightiest god (i'm talking about the 3DS) in his own playground Japan, but are going to waste the opportunity to recover some power in the land where such monster has not been able to obliterate the people? GENIUS!

lies.... they are just targeting japan's hunger in portable gaming... seems like they are not fan of mobile gaming.
they need a price-cut!!!!! nintendo needs competition in portable gaming...

He is not going to announce it before they announce it. They might drop it at Destination PlayStation next week. If not, then they are holding out.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

NA and Europe would have been the best places to drop the price. If they don't drop the price come the Holiday Season they'll be missing out on butt-loads of sales and the 3DS will dominate.

Well they are clearly losing the battle in japan against smartphone gaming.. so it's no surprise they are dropping the price there and not anywhere else...  the rise of google play revenue is amazing...Japan spends more money then the US in the playstore

and a lot of that goes to gaming:
