It does seem to have been rushed and came out of the blue. A serious question, why did they even bother showing it?

I actually hoped to see the device but come on it is not a big deal. And I am sure it looks a lot better then Microsofts box.

They showed GAMES, wich is the important thing.

While looks are subjective, to say the current PS3 looks nicer than the current 360 is nuts imo.  The original PS3 rivals the current xbox but the "slim" revisions aren't lookers which is why doubting the aesthetics of the actual PS4 is justified.  Time will tell though.
