Imagine some magical genie offers you one day of life filled with infinite happiness. During this day, and only during this day, you can satisfy all of your deepest desires. Become the wealthiest man who ever lived, have sex with whoever you want, walk on the moon, attain the most Gamrpoints in VGChartz history, etc. Obviously, you accept the offer and begin your day of infinite happiness.

However, there's a catch which you don't learn until after you've accepted the offer: Everything you do during this day will be erased after the day is over. Any changes made to the universe on this day will be reverted back to normal at the end of the day. Even your memory of this day will vanish completely. After this day, you return to your normal, everyday life. Essentially, it will be like the day never happened.

The above is hypothetical. Just assume it is true in order to answer the question that follows.

If a time period contains infinitely more happiness than the any other period, is it worth living if it's effects/memories completely vanish afterwards? What do you do? Do you continue living this wonderful day since it's too valuable to give up. Or do you terminate the day and go back to your normal life, since the day wouldn't matter anyway. Do you continue the day or do you go back to normal?

Well, if I decline that means that I must use the day to do the usual boring stuff, so even though I might not remeber it, I would rather spend the day doing something fun.

It does not matter.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

It would matter for 24 hours

Since my life would be the same whether I accept the offer or not. Of course, I'd accept.

I wouldn't be able to compare that awesome day with the relatively boring remaining days of my life, so I'd continue it for sure.

The decision would actually have been more difficult if I did remember it afterwards.

Jay, an interesting dilemma. Did you figure out this for yourself or you got the idea from somewhere else?

Personally I would choose to live the infinite happyness day since there's nothing to lose.

It's an analogy I made to compare to the value of life with no afterlife.

Cool! You mean as an angle to explore the question of what value does a human life on earth have with the assumption that there is no afterlife?

I would discontinue it if I couldn't remember it afterwards, since what would be the point? Otherwise I would live that day to the fullest. It's like turning down an all-paid trip to Disneyland.
