Forums - PC - Minecraft - How Long Have You Stuck with a Single World?

Also, I realize now I should have posted this to the general gaming forum, as I completely forgot about the 360 guys who play. Wonder if there are any mods around I could ask?

@cchaos

Yeah, that looks sweet. Despite the graphics I could not resist the game after seeing all kinds of stuff to do with it on YouTube. I will probably post more in a week on survival mode as I noticed the official thread is cold, and PC dominated.

Well, it was on PC originally, so I can understand the PC dominance in the thread, but it's always nice to have one where everyone can post how long they've been working with their world. heh

I wonder if I should post some screenshots of my own stuff. I've got like 10 different fortresses that I've tried to be particularly creative with, so I might have to toss you guys a few pics as I go. heh Honestly though? Some of the coolest stuff is made by the random generator in the game...

This is a completely random generated hollow mountain: http://imgur.com/a/lTtgB

Gotta love this game. hehe

Sounds good! Can't wait to see the screenshots!

Welcome to the world of Minecrafting! It's addictive. Give it time, though, and you'll be building even bigger and more impressive things. Consider trying to build in Survival mode though! It's a thrill! Imagine standing at the top of this scaffolding: http://imgur.com/gZspdYK

Don't get too hyped though. I started playing minecraft a few months after I started university, so my time with it has been somewhat limited :)

Ah! That I can understand. heh Still, it'd be cool to see what you've got!

Any screenshots?

Allright, let's do this!

The final frontier, this is the very fringe of my civilization. The base from which I plan to look for End Portals. A village that is plit in three by two deep ravines. Since it's so far from home, I've put up fences to prevent villagers and myself from falling into the abyss, erected mighty walls (though the guard towers are incomplete as of now) and built like 12 Iron golems to clean up whatever spawns in the well-lit village.

This is how the way home looks. Milestones is the only cost-effective way to connect the capital to the fringe bases. The journey home is about three Minecraft nights.

Finally, about halfway home, a village appears where I have some safety should I decide to wait the night and continue in the morning (not nessecary now since I swithced to peaceful to show you guys faster)

After the long journey, I reach the coast of the homeland. I think an updated chunk generating algortihm or the addition of biomes (back when biomes were just snow or not snow and some variations in grass colours) that made it cut off like that. It goes on like that for reeeeeally long.

The trees in the homeland all look like this because the map had to be converted when notch added different tree types, and that made all the leaves on the old trees into random types.

Back at the adventure road outpost. The capital is near now. The spruces were all planted by me.

The road goes through the unfinished "paradise gardens" up to the royal pyramid. It's a pyramid with a 64x64 base and reaches to the old block ceiling, before they increased it.

The inside:

View of the rest of the capital from the royal pyramid. The Glass plaza covers a 32x32 pit straight down to the bedrock, where my main mining compund is located.

View from under the glass plaza.

The inverted byramid blow the glass plaza

Sky tower. The first stone structure I ever built. It reaches as high as was possible before they increased it.

Mushroom farm. Livestock pens and nether portal shrine.

The Great Wheat Fields and the city entrance.

The Sand Castle. One of my earlier structures and entrance to a minor mine. I built it because when I died in vanilla, I respanes away from where I built Sky Tower, and the ground between became a blasted creeper wasteleand. So I built it as a shelter. Later in a conversion to a newer version, my original spawn was moved to another location far from everything. But by then beds had been added.

The forest dweller's tower is the first tower that I built.

The very first structure I ever built. Mostly I was just trying to survive, so I built lit dirt roads among treetops.

Now back to Adventure Road Outpost, to follow Adventure road (was a pain to build, so I never made a long road again) to Adventure Harbour.

The still unfinished Adventure Harbour, and Sky Tower 2, this time as high as now possible.

Top of Sky Tower 2:

I can't have rendering distance on the longest because it chrashes minecraft for some reason. But here is the view from Sky Tower 2 on the second longers rendering distance.

Back at the long wall that is the nothern coast is Adventure Bridge.

And beyond, one of my older outposts.

And that's the above-surface (or most of it) part of my Minecraft world :D

@chaos sure, I am interested in any ones stuff on here no matter the platform as I see how much differently my worlds look as compared to others.

Also, I intend to get PC eventually. I just know it has done well on the 360 sales wise  and I could join those guys at the moment.

*Deleted Pictures to make the reply shorter*

Very impressive! I particularly like the glass plaza that goes down so deep, but all of your creations are extremely impressive. You've obviously taken a great deal of time on them. How many villages have you found to date? Man though, well done!

Props as well on no mods! I played for the longest time, but I have a distinct problem in that I actually can't tell directions overly well. The map mod and minimap I use that map things out automatically are something of a necessity for my playing and being able to find my way back anywhere without coordinates.

I'll have to see about getting some of my own screenshots, though there are going to be a lot if I do that. *chuckles* What I might do is make an Imgur album for each area of my fortresses and homes.

I've been playing my world, which I named "TREE HOUSE COMPETITION !" on xbox 360. It actually, believe it or not, started out as a competition between me and a friend to see who would make the best treehouse ever. After like 2 weeks, we decided to build other stuff to make our world kool. That would include: a funhouse, a temple, a wipeout course, a fishing place, a battle arena, the titanic, a spawn area (like a giant glass floor in the sky, with water leading to the ground), pixel art, life size animals, a monster spawner, more battle arenas, a roller coaster, a town (Achievement City), and a giant stadium. Wish I could take pics but I'm playing on Xbox.

The access to others that the 360 version gives would be nice, definitely. I'd consider it myself, but tight budget constraints don't allow for a Gold membership and nobody around to play on the same box.

But, yeah, I'll definitely throw up some screenshots then. heh My stuff is decent, not perfect, but the game is more like my zen garden than anything. Really nice for that.
