If you're sitting right in front of your monitor, of course. He's saying it's very difficult to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p when sitting the recommended distance from a TV, meaning on your couch, and that is a fact.


It never ceases to amaze me how many people play with their noses virtually pressed against their HDTVs. It's not healthy, nor does it flatter any game.

Hell, even a 480p game with good AA, (e.g. Monster Hunter Tri, FAST Racing League) can look nice on my 32" from a good distance.

Based on the pics posted there, yes, it is. You can't expect a 33W machine to run 1080p res games with that quality, but for it to run these games at 720p with those high-resolution PC textures, it's very, very impressive.

 

And comparing monitors with TV's isn't exactly the best thing, as I can see aliasing while playing games on my 19" monitor with FXAA and 8xMSAA enabled at the same time, for example, because of the viewing distance, while playing with my 360 on my 42" TV gives me few aliasing issues. But, of course, the difference will be there, not very perceptible in the form of aliasing, but mostly in picture clarity, considering, of course, you have a Full HD(1920x1080) TV and not just a HD Ready one, which is lower resolution.

So if I said 21" TV or display, would that be different? I don't think so. Yes, the size and the distance do matter, but it isn't like many people say. My PC is also connected to a 40" FullHD TV, and yes, I can tell the difference between HD and FullHD sitting 2m away from it.

what a stupid comparison, the only thing i said bad about wiiu is it will fail in sales and it's graphics are on par with current gen, i gave my reasons why i think  it will fail in sales and guess what it's happening so far, i even predicted 59,000 in the npd thread first page.

I'd show you quotes from developers and industry insiders saying the Wii U is definitely more capable of what the PS3 and 360 can do, but I'm sure it's been done many times already.

...Except it's a fake and those aren't Wii-U screenshots, shame as I just ordered a premium 32GB one for £207.20 delivered :(

i don't think its a fake, but if you watch the video i posted of the pc version max settings  vs 360 version sometimes when you pause the video, the pc version will look blurry compared to the 360 version, i could post pics of that and say 360 version looks better, its just an unfair comparison to make the wii u version look much better, and dalso the lighting is at a different time of day.
