DQX wont do much for the Wii-U.

The Wii-U need more megaton games like Mario to come out :O.

I beg to differ. According to Famitsu, it's one of the top 20 most anticipated game of 2013. Furthermore, having Dragon Quest appear on a specific console, judging by past trends, results into the console of choice for Japan as previous generations have shown :) (PS2, DS, Wii, 3DS)

You've got it backwards.  Square chooses their DQ platform based on the market trends.  DQ9 didn't make DS the console of choice.  The DS had the highest install base, so they made DQ for that system.  Same for the Wii.

Titles like this can have a massive impact in the Japanese market.... No one game will give Wii U the boost it needs but with a steady stream of quality titles the system will pick up momentum and 3rd party developers will start to commit to the system. For all of the power of the PS4/Nextbox these consoles will find that the market is quite competitive and with the high price point they are bound to bring the table they may struggle....

Poor wording on my end, should of proof-read. Statement should of been the following: Dragon Quest usually appears on the platform of choice in Japan (installbase) as shown in previous installments (PS2, DS, Wii, 3DS). As a result, the Wii U may become the dedicated platform in Japan if trend continues.

Good news, the more games in b/t now and E3 the better.

When is the west getting this though.

Imagine if this was another traditional DQ game. We'd be celebrating WiiU's inevitable dominance of the japanese home console market.

the latest dragon quest (X i believe) sold terribly in japan, it was a big disapointment sales wise.

Right now it's Japan's console of choice for trading in for cash at the Hard-off / Book-off chains in Japan, and the ones that have been traded in and are on shelves for sale are completely ignored, even when they drop the price heavily.

My statement was the following: ''Dragon Quest usually appears on the platform of choice in Japan (installbase) as shown in previous installments (PS2, DS, Wii, 3DS). As a result, the Wii U may become the dedicated platform in Japan if trend continues.''

Please quote the entirety of the paragraph so that one may understand the context of my statement.

I know I'm psyched for this game. Probably the biggest non Nintendo made Wii U game I'm looking forward to.

But in terms of helping to boost console sales, I doubt it, at least not in the West. Will probably give it a nice boost in Japan though for awhlie, they are crazy for the series there.
