Are you hyped for Destiny?

Hell yeah!! 12 20.69%

Kind of yes 5 8.62%

I need to see more 24 41.38%

No not really 13 22.41%

See results 4 6.90%

Total:58

So so. The concept sounds very interesting, but I'm more of a solitary gamer. Around 70% of my gaming is done on campaign related activities, and the rest is coop mostly. But as I said it does look interesting. If my friends are on board and there's a strong story driving this game then I will likely 'jump in'.

Since this is Bunjie's first time on the PS3, I'll get the PS4 version (if I do) xD

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I was a little disappointed when i found out it was an FPS, but i like everything else i've read so yeah :D wanna see how it is.

did you really expect it to be anything other than FPS?

Yup, from what i did have read to the moment (and even right now) seemed more like a 3rd person [Action/Adventure/Shooter/etc] game, i don't know.... i enjoy fps's but they don't keep me hooked for long and i'm not a huge fan of online mp, but this seems to be very story heavy so i wanna see moar!!

Not really, seen some concept art, its made by a company that has never wowed me with a single game and its in a genre that is rife with cliches and generic settings and plots and super casual gameplay elements.
I think I have to say a loud and resounding no, actually.

So far nothing I've seen makes me hypped. But nothing I saw makes me want to dismiss it either. They have my curiosity mainly because it's bungie and I know they have potential, but they need to show me more before they get my attention.

I'm pretty hyped. I'm not the biggest Halo fan, but I can definitely appreciate the quality of the Halo series. The controls, fluidity, content, customizations, and other subtle additions in Halo shows me that Bungie is definitely an extremely talented studio. Also, the fact that they left a huge blockbuster like Halo shows that they sincerely had some good ideas for something new; I have to get behind that.

I just hope the movement and aiming is similar to Halo rather than something Call of Duty. By that, I mean I don't want to be forced to aim down the sights in order to shoot effectively. One of the things I like about Halo is the fact that you can move your character freely while simultaneously shooting accurately, as opposed to the stop-and-pop gameplay of most modern shooters.

I also hope that, like Halo, characters will have a fairly high amount of health. Low health in shooters makes encounters occur in 1-2 seconds. But I prefer the more stretched out, personal one-on-one gun battles found in games were the players have more health (like the old school shooters like unreal tournament, timesplitters, etc). Nowadays kills aren't the result of a battle of skill between two players. Instead its usually who can hide in the perfect spot to be able to pop out for 1-2 seconds to get an easy kill. Rinse and repeat.

@bolded - i agree, i read today that work on this project started in 2009. they certainly want to create something big and something unseen before, thats why im really excited for this game

@italic - thats one of the reasons i love killzone, it somewhat offers the best of both worlds. the hipfire is accurate and if you want better accuracy and better aim just look down the scope. but in games like CoD hipefire somehow seems weeker than shooting while aiming, it just takes so much more time shooting at the guy. but i agree, i hope its the way you described it to be, it just sounds more fun.

@underlined - well it does seem that you will be fighting NPC's mostly, atleast from what they are telling us now. but in general i agree, i dont like to die in a second, give me some health to retaliate. it just more fun when i dont die after 2 bullets

thanks man!

This gif is from the 1:10 mark in the video.

That is either a hint at a Wii U version, or a next level troll.

I'm intrigued by the idea, but was much more interested before seeing this trailer actually. The cutscenes reminded me of the Guild Wars 2 openings after you make a new char. Also, the way the narrator said "You are a guardian of the city" it sounded JUST like any cinematic opening at the beginning of an MMO.

They kept talking about this being a living breathing world, I assume they are talking up certain mechanics similar to Dynamic Events from GW2 or the Rifts from Rift, both being mmos. You can also see a character select screen with what looks to be a level indicator on it.

I definitely like the story so far, that alone makes me want to see more of the game. We'll also have to see more gameplay obviously, i'm assuming this will be more shooter than rpg (which is a good thing imo). I'll have to keep a look out for anything new with this game.

They could totally make this a unique experience, but I would be kind of disappointed if it turns out to be another mmo.
