Forums - Sony - sony should work on undermining gamerscore

Heh, really? While PS3 fans wish for Sony to undermine M$'s "gamerscore" initiative, M$ has spent the past gen undermining Sony's actual games... timed exclusives and DLC, making once Sony-exclusive 3rd party franchises go multi-platform (you can STILL feel the butt-hurt in this every time FFXIII is brought up... if only it had remained a PS3 exclusive, it would have been the best game EVAH!!!), the PS3 getting stuck with shoddy ports of AAA games like Orange Box and Skyrim, etc.

Oh, to be sure, MS did a really good job. However, there are a lot of people who consider gamerscore to be a sunk cost and don't want to lose it.

lol wut? FFXIII sucked no matter what system it was on. Give me a break and take off your console war glasses.

Well I'm not sure M$ will carry everyone's existing achievements / gamerscore over to the NextBox since they are two entirely different platforms.  Rumors are they're completely revamping XBL, so your existing XBL account may not even work with NextBox.

I can see why gamerscores and trophies make people purchase one particular version of a game over another because they'd rather the achievements and trophys be counted towards the console they've invested more time and money in thus far, but once the next-gen consoles kick off I think that point will be moot.

Please... all I heard from Sony fans when FFXIII became a multiplatform release was how it became a worse experience because the graphics weren't as good as they could have been, and how tons of content had to be cut for the final release in order to accomodate the 360's smaller disc storage size.

riiiiight, I think most were pissed about the delay the 360 caused.

This.

Would be the biggest mistake they could possibly make.

Wouldn't that be admitting that Gamerscore is better and more imporant than what Sony has?

Although, the achievements, and gamerscore will show me more things I can do in the game that I haven't yet.  It can give me goals and ideas I wouldn't normally think.  Personally, other than what I just explained and the discount you got for 10,000 and more gamerscore, I don't really care.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Try not to give a few misguided idiots the title of all Sony fans, it make you look like the biggest one of all. The real problem was the delay due to MS's policies and perhaps Square Enix finding a unified launch better than a staggered one...but imo MS's policies. Didn't FFXIII on 360 have more than one disk anyway? They had to compress audio and video to run port it to 360. The PS3 version was fine. There is a chance the porting took away from development, but the game was suppose to release on PS3 a lot earlier than it did.
