No way. Might as well just throw money out the Windows

It would cost more money than Sony can splash around right now. They could, yes but the money it would cost wouldn't be worth it in the short term or long term.

Again I'm not arguing that they will make it exclusive, I am just trying to show that simultanious multiplatform development does not always mean more sales. GTAIV actually sold less than the last two versions with the PS2 alone selling as much or more units all by itself.

So there is no reason that even if they were to make a timed exclusive or, full exclusive that Sony or MS should have to pay them off. They are likely to make more money developing the title in that fashion anyways. The only reason to pay is to make sure it comes out day and date on your platform like MS did with GTAIV. Rockstar is not out to help Sony or MS, and that past shows they are better off making it for one platform first.

OMG, someone who understands what I have been trying to get through to these people for years :P.

Only a very few Developers actually start to rake in more money as a Multiplatorm title, most are making the same they did when they were exclusive series, or less in most regards. Its like less than 10% that prove being MP was effective for them.

Considering the PS3 install base and price in 2008 the sales on the PS3 are more impressive than 360.
I'm sure we'll see a PS4 version of GTAFive.

I know right.

How is it that the Gamecube, with an install of what like 20million, could still sell Marios that ship 10million, and series like MGS sell about the same regardless of how many systems they are on, or GTA which has consistantly sold better as a pseudo exclusive?

Because Userbase size has very little to do with fanbase size. A fanbase does not double in size just because the game is available to more people. If 100 ppl are interested in your game, its gonna be 100 no matter how u slice it. 70/30, 50/50, 90/10. It is far more about the loyalty of that fanbase to any given hardware with the expectation that they will recieve it there and THAT is where a console should debut(all the while trying to spend as little as possible). It baffles me that so many JRPG devs let MS tempt them with moneyhatts and keep far too many JRPGs from releasing on PS3 this gen(if only timed) when Playstation has consistantly held the largest JRPG fanbase...

Yet another reason why exclusivity and selection of platforms to release on  is so important.

i thought it was a 3 game deal! i haven't even seen 1 yet.

There were two PSP GTA games.

that was a waste.

They will only release GTA for a console with large userbase. They stated something about releasing GTA with "smart business" last year.

*So no it wont happen even in ur dreams.

*San Andreas sold 20 million on the PS2 alone......GTA 4 sold 19 million (xbox & PS) combined.

Not a chance.

GTAV if it goes cross-gen it would be: PS4/NextBox/PC/PS3/Xbox360 (and maybe WiiU).

At this point I think Rockstar wont see a exclusive being worth enough of a profit.

This. 3rd Party exclusives will be extremely rare this new gen. Unless they're well-paid for it, of course. Extremely well-paid.

Come on guys! look at the bright side, Agent will most likely come out before half life 3. That's something to look forward to, right? :D

Different market for a different time. Ford should re-release the model T car because they had %100 market control! Wow, no way!! It worked then, not now.

Also GTAV has more of a chance of being a timed for the 720, they did it with the large episodic dlc on GTAIV, remember?

what is the sence if the ps4 gets it frist the 360 people have it all ready

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

You wish LMAO

Yay!!!
