Also, IE dominates because it is the PC's default web browser usually and many people do not care to learn about and try another browser, ever. Ever.

Overall, the site as a whole is interesting especially since it includes estimations on phones/tablets..

what, the, fuck? I mean those chains were really good cause I didn't loose my wallet and keys that way while hitting people with them but that shit made no sense, I just know Netscape raped Mozilla, IE raped Netscape, then Mozilla Firefox raped IE, then Chrome and Firefox are currently fighting for supremancy and Chrome is gaining the upperhand is about it, that commercial literally doesn't do shit other than some random ass weird advertising that don't even reach kids these days.

I'm still waiting to see what Windows 9 does, a shit is not given on 8 other than the possibility of me getting a touch screen ultrathin laptop.

I still use Chrome on the desktop but on my Surface I use IE (granted because I have no choice) and as far as I can tell it's about as good as Chrome.

The main hatred of IE comes primarily from developers which have hated how Microsoft did not conform to internet standards. Developing web sites have been and still are often a pain the ass to make work properly with IE.

Aside from that, ive never really liked IE, not necessarily because it was bad (from a user perspective), just never as good as any of the competition.

Ah, so that makes sense. Thanx for the explanation . Than its understandable. Seeing that I never worked on a site before, I never encountered those problems, but it is true, that site optimatization can be pretty mediocre on it.

I switched from IE to FireFox a long time ago, mainly because Facebook and vgchartz were always giving me trouble. When I switched a lot of sites loaded twice as fast on FireFox. Dunno how it is now, I'm not upgrading to Win 8 any time soon.

I use Firefox as my primary browser, Chrome as my backup (with Opera a distant third). IE9 is a solid browser, but I can't live without my addons, and Firefox does the ones that I want best. (Also, DuckDuckGo is my search engine, because I can use their !bangs to directly search a whole ton of other sites... I know I can do that in Firefox, but this is more portable.)

Microsoft's position is such that even when it wins, it loses.

In the time period that IE bottomed out at 53.63% to its current share of 55.14%, desktop/laptop share of web browsing dropped from 90.53% to 87.75%.

In other words, desktop IE has actually declined from 48.55% of all browsing usage in August, to 48.39% now. So... it hasn't actually bottomed out at all.

Now, it's not all sour news, as IE's mobile browsing has increased from 0.06% of all traffic to 0.16%, so MS is almost treading water with only a .06% or so decline in usage across all platforms.
