Are you waiting for a Wii U price cut

Won't happen any time soon. I don't think Iwata would be able to convince anyone to talk another half a billion dollar loss to get the console off the ground, which would be higher in Wii-U's case because they are already selling it at a smaller profit (if there is indeed any profit on the hardware) than the 3DS.

So they're going to go the Vita route, and just sit out the bad sales until the software comes and hope that provides it with a boost. Obviously, that's worked horrifically for Vita where we've gotten to the point where it's questionable whether the console is going to survive in any state much longer.

For Wii-U, though, it's doable. The right combination of Nintendo-developed software, which does appear to be coming (could be stronger, but is definitely on the right lines) added to the fact that - as Sales repeatedly points out - they're the only 8th gen console on the market, means that it's not especially analogous with Vita.

So yeah. To actually answer the question in the OP - in actuality, I will probably buy Wii-U after a price cut. But I'm not waiting to buy one at the moment and I wouldn't expect to see one in the foreseeable future.

I think a lot of people are waiting for a price cut.

I also think those people will be waiting for a long time.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'll buy it when I actually get a pay-check, regardless of a pricecut or not...

The price point is fine, but there isn't any software released or even coming soon that is on my radar.

Like everyone else I'm waiting for next gen.

You wait for PS5, next Nextbox and WiiU++? You will skip the whole current gen, although it started just recently?

Do you know where can I buy a PS4 or Xbox720 right now? Please tell us because we all want to get one of those.

Around the Network

will buy at 200$

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Nope. I'm justing waiting till I get enough money to buy one.

Combination of games and price.

I'm waiting for the price of the deluxe to come down to $250, but for every super awesome game I want that releases (Mario Kart, Super Smash, Zelda, 3D Mario, Animal Crossing, etc) I will compromise $20 up.

So whether a $100 price cut or 5 fantastic games I look forward to come out or some weird combination, that's when.

Where's option number 5?

I am a mindless drone that already bought the system because it has the Nintendo name on it. That would be the one that I select.

Obviously. I never buy any system at full price. Early adopters get poor hardware, infant diseases, lack of software and features, higher price etc.
I always wait at least one year before I purchase a console, in the same spirit, I always wait until new GPU's and other hardware arrives for my PC and then proceed to buy what used to be top notch (and is only incrementally slower than the new and flashy bits), at around half the original price!
