This is something that has annoyed me and my friends for a while now.  As someone who does play with girl gamers it can be very annoying being in a lobby with guys knowing somebody is a girl.  One of two things usually happens.  

1.  Guys play the nice guy sucking up to her.  Even though it is apparent they are sucking up to her it isn't too annoying but it's also pretty obvious.

2.  Guys act like complete assclowns.  This is when it becomes highly annoying being a pervert or macho.  You all probably know what I'm talking about so I'm not going to go into further explanation.  

The thing about it is this creates a horrible environment for girl gamers, and for other people like me it's just annoying.  I don't really understand the logic behind any of this so I wanted your alls opinions or experiences that you all have had online with these situations. I mean you have know clue what she even looks like but ok. Personally me and my friends are pretty much in a party chat 99% of the time for this reason a long with other reasons.  Before Xbox parties though it was extremely annoying though.  Anyways, opinions?

A lot of gamers tend to have very little interactions with girls in real life, that's just a fact. My sister is a girl gamer and she plays Tekken online and stuff. Her name gives it away that she is a girl and some guys like to talk tough but she curses them right back out, she's probably more aggressive than me. She's 24 years old btw and she introduced me to gaming back when we had a NES and i use to watch her play super mario bros. She also played plenty of MMOs with me (Runescape, MapleStory, Vindictus) and I have noticed guys tend to act weird around her and just try to show off.

I personally don't do much console online gaming, but I never act out when playing with or against a girl. She's just another obstacle in my way to scoring first place...with boobs.

Because the majority of male gamers aren't aware of the fact that some girls do game seriously as well.
