Train wreck on 14 February 2013

So i'm guessing nintendo had a "surprise" direct today to mask the numbers would come out later in the day. Don't know how any competent developer would create content for the platform with that kinda dollar figure for a new console, let alone a new Nintendo console. Im sure all the major developers outside Nintendo most likely lost money on their Wii U titles.

This guy's on to something. I've been seeing people around here all but hope for the pyrrhic victory of all 3 consoles doing shittily next gen, as some sort of consolation prize if the Wii U doesn't recover.

At any rate, where are the rest of the numbers? Is it usually this disjointed?

atm i see more people who are happy to see wii u failing as people who hope the other consoles will fail as well. not that they would say it directly like that but if you see some people posting in every thread with bad news about wii u and what they post it's not hard to see. this thread alone has some of them^^

yep. its gonna be even worse for nintendo than before because they abandoned even more of their core audience with the wii.  even though it sold like crazy, its the wii that messed up nintendo.

Nintendo is fine, they profit last quarter so the WiiU is not really hurting them that bad. It seem the few Sony fans and a couple of M$ fans are having a field day with the Nintendo numbers. So sad.

That profit was in large part due to one-off circumstances, including currency fluctuations and, more importantly, overshipping Wii U hardware and software. The latter is going to bite them hard this quarter and, if this keeps up, next quarter as well.
