I hope MG Rising sells 1.8 M combined lifetime, it seems it will do 300K first week combined not bad for a new IP.

I still think most of the pre-orderz is name alone, not quality of the game.

Can't deny that the Metal Gear name bring sales but I still think is a quality action game.

It has a lot of hype behind it and everybody who has previewed it has seemed to really love it so far.  It's hard to tell anyway.  The $160 post pandamic edition is already sold out at Gamestop, even though it's limited. It seems that people are really looking forward to the game.

Ya it is really surprising.  I didn't see it getting above 20,000 for a few more weeks. 

Even for The Last of Us, I think the game will reach "only" 500-600k first week (250-300k in NA and 250-300k in Europe) even if I hope it'll do much better.

It'll be very hard 'cause of Uncharted 2 with 96 meta and more than 6 millions sold ^^

I have a feeling TloU is being overtracked and GoW:A is being undertracked. Reasons, TloU is doing nowhere near as well as GoW:A in every bestsellers list I've been looking at and what caused the pre-orders to randomly pick up so much?! And the reason I think GoW:A is undertracked is because, as mentioned, it's been doing amazingly in the charts and that new live action trailer + 30min demo generated a lot of hype and gained a lot of attention. The TLoU demo that comes with GoW:A also got a lot of peoples attention, a good amount of people are now going to get the game they otherwise maybe wouldn't have.

And finally in the past all the God of War games were MASSIVELY undertracked on Vgchartz (although eventually they were all adjusted adequately but GoW3 was accidentally reset after a week but has yet to be corrected), it is very highly possible that the same is happening again for God of War: Ascension so don't be surprised when NPD or Sony announce sales figures and they're much higher than Vgchartz estimates.
