It's a business decision nothing more, nothing less.
I guess its not profitable for them to support nintendo.

Looking at the madden sales on nintendo, I would agree with them.

Evidently EA doesn't agree with themselves, because they continued publishing Madden and FIFA on Wii through the 2013 editions, despite it being a dead system by then. And surely made some kind of profit, since FIFA 2013 was literally just a reskin of the previous Wii version, and still sold almost half a million copies.

I would say Wii was an easy port? Or they saw the sales declining trend?

Wii U they need to consider the nintendo's IPAD?

Consider what for it?  To select plays?  Sounds pretty tough.  2K somehow managed to do it with the Dreamcast VMU.

You a dev?

"We don't know what to do with the GamePad" is a lame excuse for publishers too afraid to admit that they don't see the potential for financial benefit in porting to Wii U. A valid concern for games as far along in development as Tomb Raider or Metal Gear Rising.

A silly concern for Madden, which has already worked out GamePad integration for the 2013 edition and should have had a Wii U version in development from the get-go alongside 360 and PS3 versions.

I don't really care what EA does with support for Nintendo, but I will say that this "gen 3" and "gen 4" talk from them is driving me fucking insane. It'd be like if I started counting grade school from grade 4, so my idea of "3rd graders" were actually 6th graders. It just doesn't work like that and it's retarded.

Yeah, this was being talked about yesterday on GAF based on the DICE event. It is not just EA the event had more third parties announcing the cancellation of games for Wii U than actual announcements of new games.

I feel bad for no one as we all chose what to consume.

Considering the bad third party sales and bad effort from third parties, Nintendo should let it go by now.
Third parties support badly (in general) Nintendo consoles. Nintendo installbase support bad the third party games.

I don't know who started this vicious cycle, but Nintendo needs to end this now. Waiting for support is a suicide and they need content to sell their hardware.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I don't like the conspiracy theories, it's a business. EA will do what ever it takes to be the most successful, there is no place for holding grudges in a business.

Either one of their teams of bean counters or some executive with decision making power took a look at the numbers from the last versions published on the Wii and then took a look at the current hardware and soft sales for the Wii U and came to the conclusion that releasing certain new titles on said platform was a high risk, low potential reward proposition that would likely net little or no profit, or it's a Giant Conspiracy against Nintendo because no successful game publishing company actually wants to be able to make more profits by publishing on as many viable platforms as possible regardless of whether it's Nintendo's or any other company's.

I'm going with the former.

That's logic and there's only one thing similar between Nintendo conspiracy fans and women, both don't get logic.....

Do tell me more. I'd love to hear more about your infallible insight into the female psyche.

OT: Clearly EA doesn't feel that a Nintendo platform is worth their time and effort. I guess we'll see if it works out for them. I don't buy any type of sports game to begin with, so its no real loss to me.

At this rate they'll soon be calling the new Nintendo console Wii (without) U

There is no confirmation that it won't be coming to wiiu.  There's also no confirmation that it is.  I'd be very surprised if they game didn't arrive on Wiiu.
