The bad parts.
-Mandatory Kinect use. Console won't work unless its plugged in.
-Mandatory game installations. Console won't be able to read directly from disc.(Is this how they're limiting used games?)
-Xbox 360 controllers won't work on it, which is weird since there's no major redesign for the Xbox 720 controller.

The Good parts
-Multi-tasking. You can have multiple games/apps open at once.(Don't see why someone would have 2 games open at once though)
-Kinect 2.0 much more capable.
-Near-identical layout for Xbox 720 controller
-MOAR better graphicz

@bolded

It seems like this issue is only because of new wireless technology ?
I wonder if 360 wireless controllers with the play & charge kit will work. (of course if this rumor is true)

New controller seems preeeeety bullshit if you ask me.
Why change the wireless tech if not to simply sell people the controllers they already bought?

Interesting on the "bad" parts.

Why not just plug it in? It wont do anything if you dont need it, and its there for when you need to navigate the media/marketplace content. PC has had mandatory game installations for years and years. And since when has controllers worked on the next generation, aside from Nintendo? I doubt Sony will allow PS3 controllers to work on the PS4.....since thats a ton of missed revenue.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

i hope MS isn't dumb enough to require kinect to be plugged in and calibrated. even if it ships with the console a majority of the games won't use it as they will have to be multiplat capable with pc and ps4.

also if that skeleton diagram proves accurate kinect 2.0 won't be much better than 1.0 for gameplay. i mean, 6 people is great news but i was hoping for better finger tracking than just an open or closed fist.

everything else looks pretty good to me.

forced kinect usage wouldn't be bad as long as it is only "has to have some skyrim like voice command"

i would even prefer that because i really like it in skyrim and would like to have that in every game. instantly saving without the need to open the menu and stuff is awesome in my opinion. or how to open the map and navigate on it, change weapons or whatever.

what kinect really has to offer is to work with a closer distance because that was a problem for many.

Yeah, I'm gonna give this box a pass if this turns out to be true....

http://kotaku.com/5982283/reactions-to-a-console-rumor-explain-why-we-dont-really-buy-it

Article basically says a person sounds more badass on the internet when they say they are not buying because of a rumor.

When in reality, you have no idea what it really does, price, or its games on the horizon. You just make a call now based on unconfirmed things, though we know Kinect part is true). The article says its really issues like money (or lack there of), you dont like Xbox, or just want to wait a few years before you buy this.

This is simply yet another reason for me not to buy it. The first reasons would be that I don't pay to play online - I already pay my Internet bill, and that should be enough - and secondly, I find Sony's first party a hellofalot better and suits my taste much better than MS. Now, I'm expecting MS to roll out new IP's, so I'm going to give them the benefit of a doubt on that one - and they might change their mind about forcing people to pay to access the second half of the content they bought when they bought the game (that's how I see paying to play online). But why would I want to buy Xbox720 if Kinect comes bundled with it and I'm never gonna play with it? That's just a waste of money. Of course, MS could really wow me and change my mind, but they haven't done so for their whole console existence - so I doubt they'll start now.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I expect you will use kinect to navigate windows on the system in place of a touch pad. I don't think I like where MS is going with this...it's essentially a living room PC... but it will look real cool in commercials.

Always watching, no used games, mandatory installs, no controller change.....DOOOOMMMM

"superDaE:

@sdfvictory You are a fucking moron, the entire article is fake."

If you believe this rumor, then don't believe first 2 part because he said it's fake.

if the console truely won't work if not installed and calibrated than kinect 2.0 needs a failure (to calibrate) rate of 0.00%.   i dunno, maybe kinect 2.0 is just that good but i'd wager it is not.  it will only take a handful of pissed off consumers to flood the twitter-verse with "my $400 console doesn't work in my house" to give xbox8 a bad name.

it just seems too risky of a depenancy to me with all the home size, layout variations that exist.
