The gameplay in the demo was fantastic and the bosses shown on the trailer were amazing. This will have a lot of replay value I think, probably 100+ hours?

Anyways, can't wait! :D

Lol, really? As with the review in OP, again I ask did we play the same demo?

Well, depending on the way you play you can probably make it into a totally different game.

Maybe you should watch this, it'll teach you some moves you probably didn't even know were there:

And from here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=46935312&postcount=2236

Special Moves
(unofficial names made on the fly; at least they look cool)

Fwd + Square = Parry (also in the air)

Fwd Fwd + Square = Launch

Fwd Fwd + Triangle = Dashing strike

360 Rotation + Triangle = Spinning Slash

X + Square = Evasion (optional direction)

Bk + Fwd + Square = Palm Strike

Bk + Fwd + Triangle = Blade Sweep

Ninja Run + Square = Quick Slash

Ninja Run + Triangle = Slide

Ninja Run + Triangle + Square/Triangle (Slide + Ground slam)

Jump + Triangle = Dive Kick

Some Combos (from GameFAQs)
unconfirmed for right now, will give all a try and update soon.

Square (repeatedly) = unlimited light attacks

Triangle (repeatedly) = unlimited heavy attacks

Triangle (delay) + Square + Triange = Sweep 'n' Strike

Triangle + Triangle + Square + Triangle

Triangle + Triangle + Triangle + Square + Triangle

Square + Triangle (delay) + Square + Triangle

Triangle + Square + Triangle

(there's one or two, or more jump combos off of launcher, I'll post those later when I can confirm them again)

Tips

-Don't forget that with blade mode, you have the option of using square(horizontal)/triangle(vertical) strikes instead of the analog stick. Although, I get the feeling that correct aiming with the analog will really come in handy later in the game.

-Unless you're looking to get S ranking in everything, you might try experimenting with Blade Mode. Sadistic as it is, cutting off limbs and leaving the torso to walk or crawl in agony is pretty cool.

-The most opportune time to use Blade mode is when you've got a stunned opponent. Once the attack slows down and the guy glows orange, start cutting.

-Triangle + Circle gives you a stylish finishing attempt on an enemy once he/it's stunned.

-Stealth-killing is mostly getting above or behind a cyborg or gekko and hitting the button prompt.

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

Find that incredibly difficult to believe after playing the demo. The cutting time mechanic became tiresome after just playing the demo, let alone 8 hours of playtime.

I played the demo and honestly...I didn't get it. I sucked hard and couldn't beat the boss after 8-10 tries. I couldn't parry because it's too complicated and it moved fast as shit I almost got an epilepsy attack.
I really want to LIKE this game but damn... :(

Your not used to high speed hack and slash games like ninja gaiden, devil may cry and bayonetta are you?

I've completed Devil may Cry 1, 4 and DmC and Bayonetta on normal. Sure I'm not the most talented guy for those types of games but I'd say I'm at least competent. The problem with Revengeance is just...I didn't get how the mechanics work and how am I supposed to play... The other games are also very fast paced, especially Bayonetta. But in those games you can at least dodge attacks, which works very intuitive, and the parry mechanic in Revengeance just felt complicated and not intuitive at all.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Can't wait to pick my preorder and play the gray fox simulator the world has so desperately needed

I appreciate the guide but as I am an Xbox gamer not PlayStation those control mean nothing to me, and I don't know how to translate them into Xbox controls.

Although I dislike having to pick up controls myself without some sort of in-game tutorial (which is more in-depth than the one in MGR)  the killers for me were the lack of a dodging abilty or ability to recover health. Someone has mentioned to me that these are actually in the game but with the health-regen it was only explained, not demostarted while dodging was even mentioned.

There you go, I "translated" them for you :P

The dodging is this one:

A + X = Evasion (optional direction)

Here's what it looks like when you do it:

You can recover health by getting those blue energy things the enemies have inside their bodies

Ok Thanks, I'll probably give the demo another go pver the next few days and see if it changes my opinion of it. One last thing, I get what you need to do to recover health 9sort of) but not how to actually do it. How do you actually recover those 'blue energy thngs'. This is what I meant when I said the game doesn't give you very good instructions.

I highly doubt this game will beat Metal Gear 4 in overall balance. Sounds better than I expected though.
