If I was to be born again and I could choose, I'd be Japanese. The culture is amazing, as are the food, creativity and women. Though being born in Australia again or crossing the ditch to NZ wouldn't be bad at all, Strong economies, laid-back living, good services and in NZ, #1 freedom in the world.

Why should we have that? As I said above, we haven't been in war for almost 200 years (next year it the anniversary!!), so that's actually a pro, not a con imo... But I can envy the US for it's very large scoop; you can swim in the tropics, drive through the desserts and go hiking in the dense woods. That's kinda wonderful. And all the Mediterranean countries has such a long history and wonderful weather; what's not to like about that?! |
No, no, no, I love the fact that Sweden has no military, I actually think Sweden is an awesome country, but I realize that most people reading this thread are American, and in the USA People like military for some reason. I actually couldn't think of a con for Northern Europe, but I felt to Americans, this might be one.
I'm Canadian, and I honestly admire Northern Europe. I think Europe in General is awesome because don't all NATO countries lack a boarder? Every country is so rich and Unique and the Beaches of Italy and France are probably just as far of a drive for you, as Florida is for me. I voted Germany because of good beer, and good car culture, plus the a good economy, and it's pretty smack in the middle of Europe, so you can drive anywhere (and without a limit in many places). Plus hot girls, but all of Eastern/Northern Europe has hot girls.
@kain - That's cool to like USA better then any other country, but that's not the question of the thread. It's what country do you envy most. Do you Envy Canada? We're not quite as gun happy, but in reality Toronto is a lot like Manhattan, and Vancouver is a lot like Seatle, just with better health care, less obesity, and more asian people. Those two cities, comprimise about Half of Canada's population, LOL.
I picked Germany because it lacks the flaws Canada has, and because in general, I like Europe.

I like USA a lot, but I live in USA. In my area everything is fine.
But I think it would be freaking weird if I was a American born and raised in Japan. I would probably grow up thinking USA is awesome though. Still I feel like I would have had a lot more fun in Japan.

Suitable alternatives would be Japan, New Zealand, North Korea & Thailand.

Sweden, 100/100mbit dedicated connection (i get that all to myself) and costs me 200kr a month ~31$ or ~23€

The OP asked what countries you envy, not which countries to you despise. I mealy said that I want nothing more than I can already get from the USA. I'm very happy with my country and don't want it to change so I can keep going target shooting, eating American food, watching American blockbusters, enjoying American video games, playing American sports, and enjoying the outdoors thanks to biggest and best national parks program in the world. American is big, varied, beautiful, fun, and free. Just the way I like it and I'm not looking for anything more or less. I just hope I don't live long enough to see it change. |
American = mix of everyone that went there during the colonisation. you are:

I am happy with my country and don't envy other nations. But I like the following countries:

-Austria
