I live in the USA so I don't envy any other country.

I fail to understand the logic.

--------------------

Getting interesting results from both threads. People seem to envy countries with better economies (Germany, Japan, Northern Europe, Canada, South Korea) and dislike high profile, high population, and politically hostile countries (USA/UK and China).

Guess Cold is good, and too many opinions are not.

I'll spell it out for you then. I live in the United States of America which while not flawless has everything I want so I do not feel any need to move to another nation. I think after work I'll go target shooting, then have some Burger King, watch Star Wars and play some Halo 4. It's good to be an American.

Like I said I've love to visit many other nations, but I'll always come back to the land of the free and the home of the brave

You make it sound as if no other country has Burger King, or they can't watch Star Wars or play Halo :P And you're not the only country to be the home of the free and the brave :P We in Sweden enjoy everything that you listed, plus free healthcare, free education and less school massacres... And we haven't been to war for almost 200 years. That's almost as long as the US has existed...

And the OP makes it out as something negative that we don't have a larger military force? Why should we have that? As I said above, we haven't been in war for almost 200 years (next year it the anniversary!!), so that's actually a pro, not a con imo...

But I can envy the US for it's very large scoop; you can swim in the tropics, drive through the desserts and go hiking in the dense woods. That's kinda wonderful. And all the Mediterranean countries has such a long history and wonderful weather; what's not to like about that?!

This thread is not about dumping on other counties. I'm not going to criticize any nations. I don't want to live in Sweden. It does not appeal to me. I'm sure you like it, but I don't want to live there. I'd like to visit one day.

That list was an example of American culture. The burger is American as well as Hollywood blockbusters and my favorite game series. I have healthcare, we both pay for it, you just do it with taxes and I received an education, first half paid with taxes.

BTW, I'm sure your European neighbors will send a congratulations card for your 200 years of peace while they morn the heroes they lost in WWI and WWII. That's not a criticism of Sweden it's just odd to me to celebrate remaining neutral when faced with such rampant evil. Different cultures believe different things to be important. As an American I have American values and you have Swedish values.

This isn't a competition or an excuse to trash other nations. The OP asked what countries you envy, not which countries to you despise. I mealy said that I want nothing more than I can already get from the USA.

I'm very happy with my country and don't want it to change so I can keep going target shooting, eating American food, watching American blockbusters, enjoying American video games, playing American sports, and enjoying the outdoors thanks to biggest and best national parks program in the world. American is big, varied, beautiful, fun, and free. Just the way I like it and I'm not looking for anything more or less.

I just hope I don't live long enough to see it change.

American = mix of everyone that went there during the colonisation. you are:
english, dutch, french... and so on. you just forgot that part. ;)
