These threads are getting more and more lol-worthy. xD I can't believeso many people still cling to such dark-age ideas, -just- because so many others say they're true.

I believe WiiU passed PS360 lifetime sales last week. Doesn't matter if there's no proof. I believe it's true, so it must be. I don't care if you don't agree with me, you don't share my belief so you're obviously ignorant and very wrong.

I'm not sure whether you're talking about Christianity or a belief in God in general but there is a huge discrepancy between reality and your example.

with the belief in god it is we have some proof, but it isn't enough for other people.

Then there are those that deny that God exists, have no proof that he exists, but don't have any proff that he DOESN'T exist.  When there is no proof either way then people are free to believe in what they want.

Not christianity, but belief in a god in general. And no, we do not have 'some proof'. Some people like to think so, but if such 'proof' is in any way disputable
by science, or logic, then it's not proof. Obviously people are free to believe whatever they want. But that's all it is, belief. It's called that precisely -because- we do not have proof. Faith is called faith because there's no proof, people simply choose to believe something's true.

Do you have proof at what is at the center of the Earth and what is at the edge of our Universe? How about what our Universe is made out of, can you put it together in lab and make one scientifically? Finally, do you have proof that there is no God?

Faith is based on evidence my friend.

I just have to intervene now, because this is just... ridiculous.

Yes, we know pretty much what the Universe is made up of. It's called Dark energy and Dark Matter. These two substances makes out something like 95-99% of the Universe. Science does a much better job of explaining the Universe and reality than ANY religion does. It even explains human psychology much much better. Just a few months ago scientists proved the existence of the Higgs particle, which was theorized to exist and would explain why the world functions in the way the world function. The theory science made up has been proven to be a reality. Nothing the Bible said has been proven a reality, except that the jews exists and has been living in and around Jerusalem for quite a while. But that's backed up by science.

Faith is NOT based on evidence. Science is based by evidence, and is therefore changeable since NEW evidence is discovered and therefore alters the "truth". Faith is set in stone, whereas science is not.

ha ha, Dark Matter lol,....what did Voltron bring this back when he was sent on an astroid to the edge of the Universe? Dude, unless you got a pocket of the stuff, it's all just theory aka shit some dude made up. Byt the way, what exactly is this Dark Matter made of? As for that Higgs particle rubbish, you expect to bounce lights around in a lab and come crate the eaxct conditions that brought about out Universe lol, you guys really been smoking some Dark Matter.

As for the Bible, it has lots more historical fact in there,e.g. did the Romans ever control Jerusalem, i.e the same Romans that crucified Jesus, and took the story of Christ back to Rome?

You serious? Well, let me turn the tables then: do you have god in your pocket? No? Oh, I guess it's just some shit some dude made up then. Pictre or it didn't happen.

the bible has some historical facts yes, but it also has A LOT of fabrications in it.

You're right, it's much more likely some 36 year old guy with no education knows what the universe consists of than the accumulated knowledge of the top scientists in the world. In fact, you probably are the most knowledgable guy about everything, who even needs to do research, they can just ask you instead!

Faith is based on evidence my friend. That evidence, however, like in a court might be based on a certain standard, the standard might be to prove to some like you that without any dubt that there is a God, but the standard could also be to prove to people like myself that on the banlance or probabilities there is a God, and that he is the one that inspired men to write the bible. So the evidence of God or a Creator is all around you, it seems however that your standard of proof, like many others today and even in Jesus' day, is set very high. But even in Jesues' day when he showed them many signs and wonders/miracles, they still didn't believe and then crucified him. So like people in those days, I doubt that it is evidence that is keeping people like yourself from believing in the Bible or how it came about, for possibly no amount of evidence can change your heart or mind.

In fact, the Bible is not written necessarily to convince anyone, but more so to present evidence and for you to then make up your heart and mind about the existance of God.

The composition of the center of the Earth has been known for decades. Not sure where you've been? Bible study?

Universe is comprised of dark matter - recent scientists proved this and won the Nobel prize.

http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011-10/dark-energy-discovery-wins-physics-nobel

"Finally, do you have proof that there is no God" - The one in the Bible? Absolutely. A general God - absolutely not. Null hypothesis - you might as well be asking me to disprove the flying spaghetti monster. I hope you realize how stupid this argument is.

Faith - belief without proof.

proof  /pro͞of/Noun - Evidence or argument establishing or helping to establish a fact or the truth of a statement.

By definition, Faith is devoid of evidence (proof). Nice try, slick.

The Bible isn't evidence of anything, it's a collection of documents written about fictitious things. (Jesus for one - fabricated out of thin air decades after his alleged death)

I readly that link, and what an absolute crack of shit its. Some dude looks up in black ass space and comes back and says, its Dark Matter/Energy lol, no shit Sherlock! Good thing he didn't call it Universal Matter.

Then in the end he says "The findings of the 2011 Nobel Laureates in Physics have helped to unveil a Universe that to a large extent is unknown to science,” the Nobel Assembly wrote. “And everything is possible again.” Now if that does sound like a shit load of, 'we looked up in the Sky and saw some shit which we never seen before and don't know what the hell it is, but we'll like to tell you about it before anyone else does', I don't know what that whole article was about. Absolutely nothing concrete, no eveidence of how the Universe was created just a shit storm of UNKOWNS and POSSIBILITIES lol.

Do you mock everything you don't understand in order to feel as though you aren't ignorant? I mean that's what I see.

Dark Matter was theorized, then proven, what it's comprised of no one knows - but we know it's there, and it isn't "nothing".

I made no mention of the creation of the universe, not sure why you've spontaneously brought it to my attention. Is this the extent of your coherence?

Who said it is disputable by logic or science?  Just because Christianity can be disproven by Logic or science doesn't mean the other religions can.

No? So give me proof. You said we have some. Let's see it.

Mock, no, I apply the same silly reasoning that people like you apply to anything about the Bible. You think its ok for scientist to theorise out their ass but when people theorist about the Bible and God you make fun or them, saying that they believe if fairytales etc, lol.

Scientist use lofty terms that don't mean shit (sometime), but make it look like some sort of fact, get that crap out of here, Dark Matter my ass! Its all just a bunch theories where you still have to apply the same belief or faith that you mock religious people for having - talking about what is UNKNOWN and what is POSSIBLE, there lots of unknows and possibilities in the Bible to my friend why don't you believing in that to?

Are you honestly telling me that you see no difference in the reasoning used by scientists and the reasoning required to place absolute, irrefutable faith in the Bible?
