Forums - Nintendo - Wii U gamepad - do you like it or not?

I like it. Honestly, after playing with the gamepad a while, it makes the 3DS feel kind of inadequately shrimpy.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I love it. Beautifully functional and comfortable as well. And I love the possibilities it offers.

I will say that for long play sessions with games that don't utilize the screen at all I'd prefer the pro controller, but the Gamepad still works great. I do kinda wish it had analogue triggers, though...

Yeah I might get nykos internal battery

Love it so far. Light, comfy, well made, great touchscreen.

Battery life isn't an issue for me because I rarely do 3 or more hours straight. And if I do have a long session I put it on the stand during breaks.

I hear this mentioned often. Outside of racing games, is there any benefit to having analog triggers?

Tested it at a friend's house. Not quite for me. I played Mario and there seems to be a lag to the TV, which forces you to play the gamepad. The same which some eShop game(s) that I can't remember right now.
If I wanted to play a handheld, I'd play one. Why wouldn't I want to play Mario on TV specially now that it's HD?

This is a bad for Nintendo. The gamepad will confuse people: Handheld vs Home console, Add-On (Wii) vs Stand-Alone console. A typical Wii consumer will not be able to understand this outright.

Agreed. The Gamepad is infinitely more comfortably ergonomic. The price you pay for convenient portability, I guess.

Sure that wasn't just the TV?

Been playing 5 player with bros and friends, no lag what-so-ever.

I like almost everything about it, except the L/R buttons. Am I the only one who has to change his grip to reach them? LZ and RZ are at the perfect spot for my index fingers but that leaves no finger for the L and R buttons. Or am I holding it wrong? I tried to have my index finger at L and R and the middle fingers at LZ and RZ but it doesn't work.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Well he didn't have a Wii so we didn't have any Wiimotes to use. I'm talking about one-player mode. There's no problem on the gamepad, but when you watch the TV, there's a half a second lag. I don't even know what would be the difference between his and others' TV.
