According to most of the recent rumors PS4 won't have any kind of used game killing tech but 720 will. I assume Sony will still use online pass concept though.
They might be wrong of course, I've just been following Neogaf threads.
If PS4 prevents used games I'll stick to PC. I won't even think about it.

i couldn't agree more, but i plan to stick with the big 3. no major Publisher or console developers are going to support Ouya cause it's not a stable platform with it releasing every yr.
OUYA IS DOOMED confirmed!
I mean why would I buy the Ouya? The next version is coming in only 1 year and it will be alot faster. (btw I am only buying new phones etc when the old one breaks or when its like 5 years old. So no "Why would you buy an iphone etc. "counterquestion" please)
The only advantage I see is lets say every ouya costs 100 dollars you will not only get an upgrade every year but also a new controller. Sell your old ouya for 30-40 dollars without controller and the new one was just $10-20 (when you planned to buy a second controller that costs 50 bucks anyway.)
People saying this decision is going to kill Ouya aren't looking at the fact that iPad is doing just fine with a new version each year. It seems like some people are just anticipating having your ego's hurt by having to play with "outdated" hardware, just like people who can't even bring themselves to look at their disgusting, hideous, obsolete iPad 3.
I don't like the idea of buying a new OUYA console+controller every couple of years. I'm fine with upgrading the chipset though. They probably will have different SKUs, like one with only the console itself, which would presumably cost $50.

And Apple is a large corporation that is known worldwide and also have a relatively large amount of diehard fans that purchase those yearly versions. Ouya is a small ompany that only gamers who frequent gaming websites know about. So, two very different things. I think they would have fared better if they stuck with a 3 year plan, instead. Now, people will wait a year or two for their HW to improve, which will decrease sales of the initial batch, which could lead to them going out of business before they even launch Ouya 2 or 3.

Fair enough, but by the same token the only people who know about Ouya 2,3etc are us gaming board readers, not the typical person. When Ouya hits retail shelves I don't think it will be as huge a problem as people are suggesting.

agreed. i wasn't really sure if upgrading the chip set was an available option.
