Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ubisoft announce Rayman Legends to go multiplatfrom, all versions releasing in September

So Bayonetta 2 being made exclusive good, Rayman Legends going multi-platform bad?

Anyway.

Delaying the game for all three makes sense, actually. First, there won't be a needless duplication of advertising costs, and second, it's obvious the Wii U's installed base isn't where Ubisoft thought it would be, so they'll take hurting sales on that platform over possibly hurting sales on the other platforms. Seems pretty logical. Again, it's a simple situation where two consoles with a huge installed base > a single console with a tiny installed base.

Nobody cares about the game going multiplat per se, just that it's delayed in addition to going multiplat, which is the dickiest of dick moves.

I thought the WiiU features would make this unportable.
Ubisoft must've wanted more sales and not liked the WiiU sales figures much. Good for them, this will get them at least triple the sales (probably considerably more)

Now for Bayonetta 2...and the circle will be complete.

Nintendo is publishing Bayonetta 2, so the chances are very limited with that game, plus Nintendo will keep that game close to heart, they won't give the publishing rights to anyone else.

OT: Why not release the game before on the Wii U? this doesn't make much sense really. And like people already said, on September you are going to compete with GTA V, very stupid decision Ubisoft...

Did Nintendo not publish Ninja Gaiden WiiU? What makes you think Nintendo will keep the game close to heart?

Wasn't Ninja Gaiden 3 already released earlier. It's different if you just add things to the game, in comparison to when you have the whole game and it's not released on other systems yet.

Note:  Nintendo did publish Ninja Gaiden in the west.  Hence, all the time they spent on it in their Nintendo Directs and using it in all of their promotional materials over the holiday.  Same as they're doing with LEGO City.

Well it was still released earlier on the other systems. Lego City is another story, when it comes to that. However, I do think I get what you mean, but I really don't think that Lego City will release outisde of Wii U and 3DS.

Yes, LEGO City is safely an exclusive to Nintendo platforms, at least for as long as the business terms NCL and WB agreed upon lasts.  Likely years.

People have it wrong on this one. NG3 was co-published by Nintendo, they were not the main publishers (Tecmo was), that means both companies had publishing rights of the game, so there were less "bottlenecks" to either of both companies to do "whatever they want" in terms of publishing the game.

Bayonetta 2 is purely "owned" (in terms of publishing) by Nintendo. Before you say anything, the Sega logo on the trailers is because Sega is helping developing the game (and they still have the rights of the IP) they don't have any publishing rights as far as I know. Sure a port could happen but it could be something similar to ME1 which took 5 years to appear on the PS3.

Or it could be as simple as changing the name to "Bayonetta 2: Black Edition"

He is. Jim Sterling should take notes. This is how it's done.

@RichIGN
Yes this is the news. It's pretty significant. Not my problem you guys assume things, come on. Be realistic.

Ice cold. What did you think Nintendo fans would expect when you say you have interesting Wii U news?

The Nintendo-Editor of IGN just pissed off his entire audience. I'm still scratching my head on what he was thinking.

By the way, you guys, this topic is #2 trending on Twitter right now. Probably not a good morning for NoA. Bad press isn't always "good" press, even though people like to think that.

Though it seems like bit odd move from Ubi, it must be what they figured it's the best business move. I can see why WiiU owners are upset, but than again, after ZombiU selling only 320k, I think Ubi doesn't want repeat of that. Still very weird to do it so close to release date, and on top move it to GTAV's release time-frame.

If it was as simple as that then Mass Effect 1 could have appeared on the PS3 way before it did by just changing the name.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Wait, this was the very interesting news???

I was looking forward to that game.
