Let me help... from the annual accounts. A legal document to shareholders where they report actual numbers.

Sales decreased 15.1% year-on-year (an 18% decrease on a constant currency basis) to 268.5 billion yen (3,086 million U.S. dollars). Overall segment sales decreased significantly due to lower sales of hardware and software of the PlayStation®3 (“PS3”) and PSP® (PlayStation Portable) (“PSP”), partially offset by the sales of the PlayStation®Vita introduced in December 2011.

So..... lower year on year sales of HARDWARE and software of the PS3.

Same quarter last year they shipped 6.5m. So all we know for sure is it is less than 6.5m for the last quarter.

That's not a guess. That's a fact.

So then we look at September and a realistic expectation would be 68m as shown in my thread on shipped v sold. For it to be 69m would have meant way too much in supply.

So I'd say max of 6m for PS3 plus 68 gives us 74. That's as good a guess as you have made here... So can you change your title please. Thanks.

Change the title? lolololololololol

Lol. Why not?  My summary is every bit as plausible as the one here.

I dont have a problem with your summary, it's just that you forgot that you're ASKING turkish to do it. I doubt he'll even reply to your comment.

I bet Sony will announce when they will pass the 360, so lets stop speculating until then

Personally I believe the PS3 is at 74.3-74.5million shipped after 2012. Ofcourse I'd be delighted if it was even more than that, but I prefer to be a bit more cautious.

Id say thats a good and sensible estimation.

Wouldn't that estimation imply that the PS2 shipped over 1million units in 2012?

You guess puts the PS2 almost flat yoy in the first two quarters...

GAF estimate is 74.9 to 75.4.

I'm a litte more conservative but there is a chances to even near 76 million... my guess 74.5 to 75.5... any number between that.

PS. Any number below 74.5 million give PS2 crazy numbers for Q1 and Q2... below 74 million it is even flat yoy... with these crazy numbers for PS2 Sony already reach the forecast (3 million) withou added Q4.

yes it does.  so what?

the ps2 is at a level where it had pretty much flatlined.  seems reasonable.

that would make sense if PS2 shipments havent you know, stoped. if they were flat like last year they would have no reason to stop making ps2's. they stoped making them because they are down and make no sense making them anymore. which pretty much puts a flaw in your logic.

well they stopped this year for one.  secondly, you could argue they shipped an increased amount as a last boost for supply.

they didnt stop maiig them becasue they are down, they will have stopped making them to allow for PS4.

we are all guessing.

the PS2 is not taking any room from the ps4. and the theory of the PS2 being flat year on year is just ridiculous

So how are we making this thread when no one knows if it being under a million is even true or not?

sony know MS shipments mid quarter?  how so?

Not mid-quarter. Tough Im certain that they have some internal tracking, I doubt if it passes it will do it the next 2 or 3 quarters... maybe till years end, but even that is not certain IMO. When , if it will happen, Im certain we will hear about it.
