kowenicki said: Let me help... from the annual accounts. A legal document to shareholders where they report actual numbers. Sales decreased 15.1% year-on-year (an 18% decrease on a constant currency basis) to 268.5 billion yen (3,086 million U.S. dollars). Overall segment sales decreased significantly due to lower sales of hardware and software of the PlayStation®3 (“PS3”) and PSP® (PlayStation Portable) (“PSP”), partially offset by the sales of the PlayStation®Vita introduced in December 2011. So..... lower year on year sales of HARDWARE and software of the PS3. Same quarter last year they shipped 6.5m. So all we know for sure is it is less than 6.5m for the last quarter. That's not a guess. That's a fact. So then we look at September and a realistic expectation would be 68m as shown in my thread on shipped v sold. For it to be 69m would have meant way too much in supply. So I'd say max of 6m for PS3 plus 68 gives us 74. That's as good a guess as you have made here... So can you change your title please. Thanks.

You guess puts the PS2 almost flat yoy in the first two quarters...

yes it does. so what?
the ps2 is at a level where it had pretty much flatlined. seems reasonable.

that would make sense if PS2 shipments havent you know, stoped. if they were flat like last year they would have no reason to stop making ps2's. they stoped making them because they are down and make no sense making them anymore. which pretty much puts a flaw in your logic.
